Hey everyone!

We're kicking off 2020 a bit earlier and putting a bit more of our 2018 structure back in place.

This should be an exciting year for the Super Dragons division which will likely see West Coast Paddling Association & Northwind both in the mix. We definitely have an ax to grind with Northwind, so we hope you're ready for the challenge and training this year.

Below is our general plans/schedule for 2020. We hope to see some of you out this weekend! (Evite coming shortly)

General Southbreeze 2020 Practices:
- Typically every Sat/Sun in Long Beach 6:30 AM meetup
- Every 2nd Saturday in San Diego at 8:30 AM meetup.
- Jan-Mar Phase 1 Open Practices + Taiwan Mr.CaNoe Race in March.
- Apr-May Phase 2 Invite-only Practices (based on Round 1 testing).
- Jun-July Phase 3 LB SuperDragon Finalists (based on -Round 2 testing) for LB Race.
- Aug-Sep Phase 4 Open Practices - potentially sending a crew out to big East Coast race (Mercer County) in Sept or to a Seoul/South Korea race in Oct

General 2020 Testing:
Round 1 testing weekends [last weekend of feb - first weekend of mar]
- Used for priority invite ranking in Phase 2 (top 20 men/women get invites to practices first, open seats then incrementally released)
- pERG 2min [OC-1 2min optional]
- coincides with most teams' tests for AZ - you can submit scores from your respective teams

Round 2 testing weekends [last weekend of may - first weekend of jun]
- used for LB Super Dragon crew selection
- pERG 2min & 1min both sides
- OC-1 1min single side
- if your team is also testing same weekends, you can submit scores from your respective teams

Hey everyone! SCDBC is sending a Southbreeze Premier crew out to the Mr.CaNoe race in Taiwan, March 2020. If you're interested in tryouts for this race, please fill out this form.

SCDBC will be sending a Southbreeze premier team to the Hualien Pacific International Dragon Boat Festival. This is a hosted race, which means you only need to buy your airfare there (everything else is covered). Depending on interest level, we will either be sending an Open, Mixed or Women's crew [...

We're going to focus this weekend's practices mainly on time trials to ensure that everyone who needs scores updated (OC1 or PErg) has an opportunity to test. This will be your last weekend to test before the coaches make final roster selection for Long Beach race. The practices during the weekends in July leading up to Long Beach race will be closed to those that made the short list for Southbreeze. We will be running 2 crews at the race - an A and a B crew.

We'll be running pERG and OC-1 testing throughout June. A lot of you already to pERG testing with other teams so please send your results to [email protected] if you'd like to submit those.

OC-1 tests will typically be run every weekend through June.
