As we wrap up our season we want to look back on the success we had! From our practices to our regattas this season has been fantastic for our team!

Historic results. This season has seen our best result to date at nearly every major conference event. From finishing 15th at last years PCC’s to 3rd at this years Fall PCCs this year has been transformative for our program.

Our practices display the dedication of our team members. Running three practices a week during the middle of the day is so no easy task for college students balancing classes and work loads but our team shows up and gives it their all every practice. From our newer members working to improve their sailing to our more experienced ones fine tuning their skills our practices have been crucial in our season.

From the results to the awards to the growth of our team, our success wouldn’t be possible without the support we receive. We want to thank the SDYC Foundation, the yacht club staff, and our alumni for your support. Also a big thank you to our coach, Casey Gignac. And of course, a huge thank you to our exec board and everyone on our team who have made this year amazing!!

This past weekend we attended the PCCSC Team Race Championship hosted by 🌲⛵️

Saturday started off with a 30 minute delay, and sailors launching with 3-5 knots. Towards noon, the wind picked up to about 7-12 knots. The teams raced till the sun set and completed the regatta in one day.

The Aztecs ended in 4th place overall 🏆 This is the best finish in program history for team racing. We are excited to be heading back up to the bay area this weekend for the PCCSC Fleet Race Championship hosted by

For the second weekend of spring break, we headed to Wilmington, North Carolina to compete in the Azalea Bowl Regatta. The weekend brought fun, windy conditions and tight racing all around.

In A Division, Aston Smith and Macela Wilton kept the momentum rolling from last weekend with consistent sailing and secured 2nd place. In B Division, Sadie Marinerstein (a crew) stepped up big time, taking over as skipper after our original skipper fell ill. Sadie and Lila took on the challenging conditions head on and did great! Day 2 served up wild conditions, and while racing started, the day was ultimately abandoned before a full set could be completed.

We finished 9th overall and we’re fired up for back-to-back conference championship weekends ahead. Let’s go! ⛵🔥

This past weekend a few of our team members traveled all the way to the east coast for the Sailpack regatta in Oriental, North Carolina.⛵️

Saturday brought choppy waves and 15-18knts of wind. Sunday had lighter chop and 10-13knts of wind making for a great weekend of racing!

Shoutout to Aston Smith and Macaela Wilton for securing first place in A division. We ended in 8th place overall. 🏆🥇

Thank you so much to for hosting the regatta as well as our team this whole week! We are looking forward to coming back next year 🙌
