New School Year. New Goals. Stronger Kids.

A big WELCOME to some of our newest Power of One students joining us during the first week of September! ❤️🖤

As kids head back to school, many families are setting goals for better focus, confidence, discipline, and healthy routines and martial arts is a powerful way to work on all of them.

Every class challenges students to listen, concentrate, push through frustration, move their bodies, believe in themselves, and learn practical self-defense skills for life.

Because preparing kids for a successful school year isn’t only about sharpening pencils and filling backpacks. ✏️🎒 It’s also about strengthening the mindset and habits of the child carrying them.

🥋❤️ Not goodbye… just the beginning of their next chapter.

This week we temporarily say goodbye to two young instructors who have truly grown up within the Power of One family. Ms. Quinn and Mr. Kaing began on these mats as young students themselves and, over the years, became leaders who helped inspire, motivate, and pass their knowledge on to the next generation.

Now, as they near the end of their college years, new adventures are calling. 🌎 Ms. Quinn, recently graduated from UCSB, will be taking her next studies overseas, and knowing the determination she brings to every challenge, we know she’ll make the absolute most of this incredible opportunity. Mr. Kaing will remain closer to home, so thankfully we’ll still see him from time to time, but his talents are already in high demand as he finishes up college and begins building his next career.

Both have played a tremendous role in creating the community Power of One is today. And while they have taught our students so much, we know they have learned just as much from all of YOU along the way.

One of the greatest parts of teaching is watching your students grow beyond the place where they started. We couldn’t be prouder to watch these two step confidently into what comes next.

Thank you, Ms. Quinn and Mr. Kaing. Once Power of One family, always Power of One family. 👊☝️🥋

📚🥋 Back to school means back to FOCUS!

This week we’re working on one of life’s greatest superpowers: SELF-CONTROL.

Self-control is choosing to listen when you’d rather talk, focus when distractions are everywhere, and make the right choice even when it isn’t the easiest one.

Just like a kick or punch, focus gets stronger with practice. 💪🧠

Here’s to helping our students start the school year focused, confident, and ready to succeed on the mats, in the classroom, and in life! ❤️🖤
