Sometimes it’s just about moving weight. Not every goal has to be about weight loss. Our bodies are made to fluctuate. Sometimes you just want to be a jacked dad and bench 315. One of the biggest things people just don’t get, as your muscle mass increases your body fat should be decreasing. You burn more calories at rest. Plus it’s cooler when you do lift more!!

It’s not the weight that matters. It’s how much you are willing to push that will determine how strong you get. The more you push though the stronger you will get. Also it looks cooler when you do lift heavier weights.

Why we do what we do.

TO GET STRONG!!

Well why would I want to get stronger?

- For physical and mental health
- decreases body fat
- improves confidence
- improves balance, flexibility, and mobility
- decreases your chance for injury
- improves how you look and how you view yourself

I could keep going on and on but hopefully you get the point. There are zero consequences to being stronger. I can’t think of a time some has said I want to be weaker or I want to look worse. Honestly if you did say that I would probably tell you to F off. I am not wasting my time with the negative people.

Tired of being fat and ugly?
Start training and just be ugly. (I am joking for all you weenies out there who troll people)

Who should be strength training?

I get this question a lot - are you sure I should be lifting weights?
-If you’re a senior looking to improve balance. Strength training.
-If you’re an athlete looking to dominate your sport. Strength training.
-If you’re getting ready for your wedding and want to feel confident. Strength training.
-If you’re overweight and want to lose weight. Strength training.
-If you’re recovering from an injury. Strength training.
-Improve overall health. Strength training.

The bottom line is, building strength improves most areas of life. It’s not a magic fix, but it’s hard to find someone who it wouldn’t benefit.

Now is the time of year people are trying to recapture how they looked for summer. Trying to keep off those last few pounds before Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
It’s also the time of the year where to figure out a goal for yourself is hardest. I might have a wedding to go to in a few months but no real goals set.
Try and change your mind set and don’t worry about the weight on the scale. Set your goal to a lift or exercises. Pull ups are a great goal. Test yourself day 1 see how many you can do. Now you have 30 or 60 days to try and improve on that number.
One of the by products of trying a goal like that is you will get in some good workouts and be pushing yourself. Another one is weight loss usually. As muscle mass increases your body fat will decrease.

It’s that time of year. Summer is over, even though it doesn’t feel like it sometimes. Halloween is almost upon us and Thanksgiving is right around the corner.
How many of you start dieting or crash diet right before to try and get a few pounds off, to offset what you will eat at Halloween and Thanksgiving?
Instead of worrying about dieting, try strength training. Setting some goals in strength will help keep you motivated working towards them. When was the last time you did a pull up?
It will also take the focus off just dieting. The benefits of strength training besides getting stronger is weight loss. The more muscle you add the easier it is to burn fat.
Stop wasting time on diets and get strong!!!

We try to teach our kids to be more resilient. It all starts with getting in their exercise. Doesn’t really matter the type of exercise as long as they do something. Try to make it fun for them and less of a chore. Do it with your kids to help you kick start yourself.
