ADDING TO THE FLEET - it’s been a long time coming.

I can’t tell you how many countless hours I’ve spent browsing Craigslist just dreaming of getting a boat.

I remember a Baja trip awhile back when said he missed his old aluminum boat. Light weight, robust, and simple.

Just what I wanted.

When this 16 ft Gregor Baja hit the market, I jumped all over it. Light weight, easy to tow, and simple.

I can’t wait to take her down to Baja and around Cat.

Thinking of calling her the USS Musashi.

BAJA FUN - We headed down knowing that it’s be less than ideal conditions.

Windy with a chance of more wind lol.

So much so that we couldn’t get a panga.

Thankfully, we brought down the and created our own adventure.

This morning we had perfect weather and decided to do a quick dive before heading home.

I saw a monster gulfie but didn’t get a good shot. Thankfully, I was able to get this small cabrilla to bring home today.

Super selective this trip, but a nice bag to bring home to the family.

How to Tie an RP Knot: https://castandspear.com/john-collins-knot/

Here's one of the easiest mono to braid knots around. It's super quick to tie, the small profile travels nicely through guides, and it's been used on small to medium size tuna on the charters for some time.

It's basically a 5-turn Alberto Knot, but here in SoCal it goes by the Royal Polaris (RP) Knot or John Collins Knot.
