Chubasco - Sparkman Stephens 67' This is one of the grand dames of the SoCal sailing fleet. Built by Wilmington Boat Works of California for William L. Stewart she was launched in 1939.

The Sailing Yacht Chubasco; built in 1939 at the Wilmington Boatworks. Sparkman Stephens 67', design number 255. Bristol, Vintage, Exquisite, are all words used to describe this fine yacht, always in amazing shape, this historic racer/crusier has graced the worlds oceans. Currently undergoing a major refit of frames and planking, repower and updated sails, along with some other modernizations. She

will be ready to sail again for many years to come, starting this summer. Nick named "Chubby" as its has a fuller hull form, verses some of her predacessors, that were from more slender lines that were in fashion at the time from earlier Americas Cup designs.
