It’s been a bit since we gave y’all an update! But guess what, jinventionz is now based in Los Angeles, California! 🏝️

Jin and Cara spent the past half year preparing for their move from New York to Cali and the big cross-country road-trip finally happened in early November!

You’ll find us paddling at Mothers Beach most days of the week so please say hi. We’ll also be bringing Watch Buddy to you at different OC races, so stay tuned! 😚

Did you know that one of our earliest adopters for the Watch Buddy™ is actually a Team USA dragon boat world champion? 😏

Jenny Yu, our beloved coach at , has tried every generation of Watch Buddy™ and given us invaluable design feedback to make the holder stronger and sturdier. We’re proud to have helped her as she prepared for the IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships 2023!

🎤 In her own words:
“I’ve been struggling for the last two years trying to view my Garmin Forerunner 920XT watch while training on my OC. I tried attaching it to the leash and even the steering cables but then I kept looking down and that’s if the watch hadn’t shifted while I was paddling (and it almost always did)!

The biggest frustration came when I had to record and submit time trial results to my USA Dragon Boat Coaches. Try juggling a watch, a phone, and having to go all out on a time trial.

With the Watch Buddy, I now have a secure way to attach my watch and have all the important data visible. I also end up saving money because I don’t have to purchase an expensive GPS device, making the Watch Buddy worth every penny.

My favorite feature is the adjustable angle! I can leave the Watch Buddy on my boat, flip it back, and just take the watch with me. I can’t wait to use it for a full season next year!”

It’s only been a month and we’ve already sold 200+ Watch Buddy™! Our customers have come from all over the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. We’ll be adding 2 more countries to this list but we shall keep that as a surprise 😌

Ever wondered how jinventionz and Watch Buddy™ came about? There’s a love story behind it after all…

When Cara first got her Garmin watch in May 2023, she struggled to read the watch data while paddling. Jin, a mechanical engineer by trade, quickly 3D printed a simple Watch Buddy™ 1.0 to help her secure her watch on the canoe.

But Jin wasn’t satisfied with the ugly design, so he made some improvements and made Watch Buddy™ 2.0. More and more people noticed this Watch Buddy™ at races and camps and asked if they could have one.

9 months of rigorous testing and redesigns later, the official Watch Buddy™ has arrived. This latest version has withstood the test of time, natural elements, and is even more durable than GoPro’s components.

And now, we’d like to spread the love of Watch Buddy™ to you all. Love paddling even more with all your data in front of you!
