Dharma isn’t something we find
It is something we continually practice

A remembering
A returning

An ongoing process of bringing our thoughts, actions, relationships, and lives into deeper harmony with Truth

And perhaps that is why dharma has remained such a powerful idea for thousands of years

Because every human being, at some point, asks the same question:
How do I live well?

Dharma does not give us one universal answer

Instead, it invites us into a lifelong inquiry:
What does alignment look like here?
What does truth require of me now?
And how might my life change if I had the courage to live in accordance with it?

Dharma asks us to remember three things:
There are truths that are timeless
There are virtues that belong to all of humanity
And there is a unique way that only you can embody them

The work of yoga is learning to live at the intersection of all three

This is why I teach students and clients: Alignment OVER achievement

Cultivating inner alignment will always support your unfoldment and evolution on this human earth walk we are doing

Chasing achievement will always give you a run for your money!!!! Ha! Literally and figuratively

Our Truest Dharma, our most essential Dharma, is not to achieve, it is to be aligned with our Truth, the Source of that Truth

And in the being aligned, we will experience achieving
We don’t need to chase, we need to align…

So utilize your asana practice (what we call yoga these days) to be yoga’d with the Truth, the Dharma, of who you are, and your dharmic path this particular lifetime

Dharma Shakti

We all inherit stories.
Stories about money.
Stories about love.
Stories about success.
Stories about who we’re supposed to be.

Some were spoken out loud.
Some were modeled for us.
Some were learned through pain, disappointment, and survival.

Over time, those stories become beliefs.

And those beliefs quietly shape our choices, our relationships, and the lives we create.

But here’s the question:
Which story are you still living inside of… simply because you’ve never questioned it?

Maybe it’s:
“I have to work hard to be worthy.”
“Love always leaves.”
“There’s never enough.”
“I’m too much.”
“I’m not enough.”
“People like me don’t get to have that.”

The moment we become aware of the stories we’ve inherited is the moment we begin to reclaim our power.
Because not every belief you’ve carried belongs to you.
And not every story you’ve inherited deserves to become your future.

✨ The work isn’t becoming someone else✨

It’s becoming conscious enough to choose which stories you keep—and which ones you’re finally ready to release.

What is one inherited story you’re questioning right now? 👇 I’d love to hear.

Your worth is NOT to be earned or proven - it is to be loved through you and by you !!!

In this episode of The Dharma Download: Sacred Teachings for Modern Living, we explore what the Bhagavad Gita reveals about self-worth, identity, and your inherent value.

The Gita doesn’t teach you how to build self-worth…It teaches you how to remember that your worth was never in question.
In this talk, we explore:
* Why your worth is not tied to success or failure
* The difference between performance-based identity and your true Self (Ātman)
* How comparison disconnects you from your dharma (your unique path)
* Why self-trust—not external validation—is the foundation of real confidence
* How the Gita affirms your worth at every stage of your journey

This is a grounded, modern application of ancient yogic wisdom, designed to help you move from self-doubt and comparison… back into clarity, confidence, and alignment.

✨ Journal Prompt
Where in your life are you still trying to prove your worth… instead of living from it?

🕊️ If this resonated…
If you’re ready to integrate this work more deeply: through coaching, reflection, and aligned action : this is exactly the work I guide inside The Empowered Way and in my 1:1 coaching

There are moments that happen so quickly…
but stay with you for years.
I was 24.
Sitting in a room full of people I respected.
In a space that was meant to feel aligned, safe, intentional.
And when I spoke something that felt real,
something sincere, unfiltered, and true for me…
it wasn’t met
It was laughed at
Not maliciously
Not even dramatically
Just enough…
to make my body contract
and my voice question itself
And in that moment, something subtle happened:
I learned how to pull back
How to soften what I really meant
How to redirect attention away from myself
Not because my why wasn’t true….
but because it didn’t feel safe to stand in it
to own it, to live it
And if I’m being honest…
that pattern followed me for a long time
Not fully hiding
But dimming
Deflecting
Trying to put the spotlight anywhere but on me

But here’s what’s also true:
I didn’t leave.
I stayed.
I kept learning.
I kept practicing.
I kept showing up.
And over time, I started to see that what came through me in that moment…
wasn’t something to be embarrassed by,
It was something to understand…
Something to grow into
Something to live

20 years later…
That same intention :
“to be a lighthouse for others”
has quietly shaped everything I do
Not as a performance
Not as something to prove
But as a way of being
A steady light
A point of reference
A presence that helps illuminate what’s already there
The light that stands in the dark and helps others find their way ….

And maybe you’ve had a moment like this too
Where something true came out of you…
and it wasn’t received the way you hoped
And maybe, in that moment,
you learned to hold it back.

But not everything that gets misunderstood…
is meant to be silenced.
Some things are meant to be lived into.

What are your preferred luxuries and necessities?
I’d love to hear from you in the comments below - but first … read this caption 👇 IT MATTERS

I know there is a lot going on the world - but I implore you, don’t forget to live the life right in front of you 🙏🏼

If you want to live, be and express more >authentically< it requires KNOWING yourself more….

with clarity
with belief systems
with values
with standards
with desires
with boundaries

from your own DECIDING - not whimsically decided - based on the mood of the day or the culture of the group or the flavor of the moment …

>>>Deciding from a place of true connection with your self - from a place of radical self honesty and radical courage

If you don’t know what your preferred and most valued luxuries and necessities are - Inquire ….

Inquire within

Guidance is helpful
Coaches and mentors can be powerful
Teachers and Gurus can be life changing
(And yes - I highly recommend all of the above)

But no one is coming to rescue you
Ultimately - you have to do the work inward
Start to reflect, inquire and discern within yourself

Find your truth within - it won’t happen randomly or by accident - it happens with intention, application and action

Ive caught myself doing this more times than I can count…

Comparing my path to someone else’s
and quietly questioning my own

Am I doing this for the right reasons?
Is my intention pure enough?
Am I even doing this “right”?

The Bhagavad Gita offers something really freeing:
✨ There’s no single “right” reason to begin ✨

Whether you’re seeking because you’re hurting, curious, wanting change, or already devoted…
You are on the path.
And that counts.

Save this for the moments you start doubting your path 💛

There comes a moment in your growth where you feel the pull to step forward…
to share more, lead more, be seen more.

And right alongside that pull?

Doubt. Hesitation. The feeling that you’re not quite ready yet.

This is what we often call imposter syndrome.

But what if it’s not a problem to fix?

What if it’s actually a signal that you’re expanding?

In this free live workshop, you’ll be introduced to The Visibility Threshold, a powerful framework that reframes “imposter syndrome” as a natural and necessary part of stepping into your next level

You don’t need the “right” reason to begin your path

Sometimes we seek because we’re hurtingSometimes because we’re searchingSometimes because we want change
Yoga doesn’t reject that
It honors it

A few years into teaching yoga, my teacher & spiritual mentor told me something that shocked me 😳

At the time I was studying the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita with him on almost a daily basis…

And I was about 3 years into teaching yoga when I was told I needed to start ‘wowing’ my students 🤔

I remember feeling confused, shocked and a little disappointed….

Because this was the same space where I was studying the philosophy of yoga that emphasizes in every piece of literature - you are not the body

So hearing that… just didn’t sit right with me

I had to have him clarify to make sure my assumption of what he was saying was correct - and yup, my assumptions were correct …

He meant wowing them with advanced poses
Next level Ability
Impressive transitions
The kind of yoga that makes people look amazed
He even said “ you know, like “so&so” not gonna mentions names, but yes, he compared me to a friend who had a more physically “advanced” practice then me

But that was never what brought me to yoga
That is never what inspired me about yoga
And it certainly was never what I thought was the treasure, gem, or pinnacle of yoga

But I am so very very grateful for that moment and the teaching it gave me

And I found myself responding almost immediately : no, I want to wow them with the philosophy ….

Not from defiance… but from clarity
Not from rebellion, but from certainty

Because I don’t care if someone can do a handstand
I care if their life changes
I care if they see themselves differently when they leave the room.”
I care about what happens off the mat

That moment didn’t make me right and him wrong
It just made me clear - very clear - on the kind of teacher I am—and the kind of space I hold

There’s nothing wrong with performance, handstands or advanced poses
But it was never my divine assignment

My work isn’t to impress
It’s to guide people back to themselves
That moment anchored something in me that still defines how I teach today

Not a method I copied, but a unique blueprint I trust

Your mind isn’t the problem, unless it’s your enemy !
Then it is the problem,
because you have made it your ally

The mind is the part of you that can either keep you stuck… or help you grow
The Upanishads teach:
✨ The mind alone is the cause of bo***ge or freedom.

Not your circumstances.
Not your past.
Not what’s happening around you.

Your relationship with your mind shapes your experience.

This week’s Dharma Download (previous called Monday Message) explores how to move from reacting…
to relating…
to self-mastery

Save this for the moments your mind feels overwhelming 💛 and remember your mind can be your ally … if you need help with that - send me a DM
