The Bicycle Stand

The Bicycle Stand The Bicycle Stand is a small team of dedicated cyclists who just can’t seem to put their bikes away. We also offer full repair and restoration services.

The Bicycle Stand is stocked with beautiful refurbished vintage road bikes, new city and commuter bikes and stylish bike accessories. The Bicycle Stand started three years ago in the living room of Nicole Maltz and Evan Whitener as a passion project for restoring French bicycles from the 1960's and 70's. There was something about the natural beauty and charming details of a classic bicycle that ma

de each project an individual character in our lives. Slowly as the parts built up, so did the idea of a full-on restoration studio. French bikes turned into Italian bikes, and Italian bikes turned into Dutch commuters - we could never get enough. And so here we are, young and filled with energy looking to share the adventures with all of you!

Our buddy Rich had us build him up his dream Mash AC-4. Rich does everything from hard riding to farmers markets and this setup lets him get done a bit of both. Thanks for your patience, trust, and pastries! Hope you’re loving this thing this summer. The Bicycle Stand MASH SF CA

Artifact No.40: Pagani Special Pista. Our client wanted this bike in its original livery after living a life in New York having been used for courier duties. A few dents, a pinhole, and frame alignment check before the restoration begins. We were happy to oblige. We chose to spray a beautiful sparkle silver that comes alive in direct sunlight. The fluorescents in the studio do not do it justice. Full build picks to come. Columbus drops and tubes. Very traditional and very sublime. This marks the 40th project for our in-house paint werks Artifact Design. Thank you to all who have trusted their special projects to us. The Bicycle Stand

We were having a bit of discussion about exactly how big of a tire would be ideal on a 650b Preamble? Now you don’t want to go pushing that tire clearance right to the limit but we think these 43mm wide Panaracer Gravel King SK fill the void quite well with room for mud, broken spokes, or even fenders. Throw on an old school Paul rack and you got yourself a hot little Baja camp ground rig! The Bicycle Stand 𝚂𝚞𝚛𝚕𝚢 𝙱𝚒𝚔𝚎𝚜 Panaracer

Artifact No.39: For this early 70’s Falcon race bike we laid it all out on the table. We chemically stripped the frame to preserve the original chrome. Our metal master Derek added internal top tube cable routing, down-tube shift braze-ons, under bottom bracket cable guides, a chainstay cable stop and generally went over the brazing filling little voids that were left from factory especially around the seat cluster. The original chrome was polished with acetone and a super fine cloth to restore the original luster and then the frame was painted in factory Supermarine blue. The head-badge was polished until it made us 😊 . The Bicycle Stand 🇬🇧
