Fascinating article expressing the the statistics of Americans (by gender) that feel pressured to look better physically due to a particular season.
I like to call this season treason.
A treason to oneself in which the idea is only to achieve a level of fit in order to reduce the level of self-perceived unattractiveness.
This in itself is not the only treason.
To me, the body is sacred. A complex, miraculous design inside every single person. We are all born with a singular instinctive duty and that is to survive and thrive! We survive though movement, thought and consumption of foods.
Quality movement
Quality thoughts
Quality consumption
A recipe for a quality life yet these qualities have slowly made there way down a depleted soil, genetically modified processed path. Today, our means of survival is more of a factor for some than others. Those living with more means and conveniences are more likely to take certain of these aspects for granted.
A more mindful way to approach the feeling of needing to look better physically before the summer or any other outing in particular is this: You are the sum of all your experiences and decisions, internally and externally.
To develop an external change , one must begin within. Internally, make a switch in which you decide that the opinions of others will come second to the opinions of yourself. Now write down 3 magnificently positive things about yourself(feel free to exaggerate since this will be the new mindset or opinion). These are now the only opinions that matter. Do this properly and your journey down the road of fitness and wellbeing will be amplified. All that will matter are your opinions and your results!
There's no need for taking things for granted any longer. We all today can make a conscious decision to begin making healthier wiser choices.
Whether it's eliminating soda from your life, hiring a certified personal trainer to guide you over the bridge to lasting health, or simply being aware of the way you think about others, the choice is always yours to begin making a difference.
All the small things matter in the long run.
Nearly half of consumers are actively trying to lose weight, but many aren’t focusing on both diet and exercise.
