Second run, first on Sunday with the new Tick Performance shifter installed. Still trying difference camera placements so enjoy my new mirror 😬

Again not fast, I believe this one got a time of 148 secs.

Sadly I didn’t turn on the camera for my last run, so this is all I’ve got for the weekend.

Totally beat 🫩

My horrible first run at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary for SCCA Appalachian HillClimb Series Presented by Summit Racing

Car fought me the entire time, couldn’t grab gears. 0/10 on the fun meter. This is when I made the game time decision to go ahead and install the Tick Performance universal shifter upgrade Saturday afternoon, in the muddy paddock.

Thanks again to Plaza and his family and Jim Smith for all the help this soggy weekend not only with the shifter swap but also just general paddock stuff, shared knowledge, and window net clipping 👍

The Performance billet shifter made a big difference, now I can really learn to drive the car instead of rowing for gears.

And thanks to Cheek Racing for the tip on using that shifter 👍

Appalachian HillClimb Series Presented by Summit Racing struggled a bit with a new event site and a new hill. Plus flash flooding rains didn’t help. I was the slowest recorded car, but that’s ok.

New car with wrong rear end setup, new hill, new shifter, even new fire suit = lots of learning happening. Not sure I even got a valid time for any of the three runs I made. But last run started to feel some confidence in the car at least. Next up - swap the short track rear end for a road course one with milder and even side to side camber (little to none preferred)

Great facility and a great road, lessons learned and can’t wait to come back 👍
