Age is just a number. Meet Bob, he turns 87yr old soon and still tears it up in the cycle studio! Never let your age define your fitness abilities or goals. Bob's been a HUGE inspiration to everyone who attends class. He's the first one to crack a joke and make sure you're noticed if you're new. And, he's the first one in class ready to ride with the best attitude. "Be Like Bob" is trending in our cycle classes!

For Women's History Month I was asked to lead a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout for the United States Space Launch Delta 30 Run. Participants could do their usual 2mi run or join my HIIT workout. Out of the roughly 200 attendees about 60 participated in the HIIT, including my husband! I was honored to have been asked and even more elated my husband let me lead him in a workout. Thank you Kennesha for the opportunity! Cheers to Women's History Month! 💪

Celebrating with a client this morning! She scored a 90+ on her United States Air Force Military Physical Fitness Test. When you score above a 90 then you don't have to take another PT test for an entire YEAR! BIG congrats to this client! 🥳 All that hard work paid off!

Motivation is cultivated through discipline. Your body doesn't need your excuses today, instead it needs your discipline. Get your mind there... you can do it, you are strong, you are worth it!

Confession: I have ZERO motivation to workout today -- it's cold, foggy and windy -- but discipline. I'm not letting my negative mood and elements decide that I'm not in the mood to workout. Cheers to leg day! 🦵🦵

Breakfast on-the-go! This super simple yummy breakfast cookie is perfect for an on-the-go breakfast and if you have kids they will most likely love it too!

Ingredients:
1.5 cups oatmeal (I use Quick Steel Cut Oats)
2-3 medium ripe bananas
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
dash of salt to batter (I sprinkle Kosher salt on top of each cookie)

Instructions:
✏️Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silpat mat/parchment paper.
✏️Mash bananas in a medium bowl until they are broken down. Add in oats and salt and gently stir until all of the oats and bananas are mixed together
✏️Add the chocolate chips!
✏️Scoop one heaping tablespoon of the dough into your hands and free form into a cookie
✏️Cook for 12-15 minutes or until set through and lightly golden. Cool and enjoy!

Notes: I do refrigerate these cookies once they are cooled. They freeze well up to a month in a sealed container.

It's Sunday and my Funday! Working out and moving your body should be fun, if you're not enjoying it then you most likely won't stick with it unless you've got an awesome community of support pushing you towards the finish line.

Races are *not* my jam but somehow I got roped into organizing a Super Spartan race, 8 miles with 25 obstacles almost a year ago. The incredible dedication, encouragement and support of each team member challenged me, forced me to step outside my comfort zone and held me accountable. All the time we spent together preparing leading up to the race and then the actual race made it worth it and brought us closer together.

Find something fun! Find your community! Find a new challenge! Set some fitness goals!

Happy 2021, Fit Crew!

Umm what a bizarre ride of a year that was 😳 So much of last year was out of our control. But one thing we can control each day is our health. Each meal, each snack, each step (literally!) we take is an opportunity to reach our fitness goals. When we're mindful and prioritize our health our attitude shifts for the better.

What are your fitness goals today, tomorrow, next week, next month and next year? I like lists so here are ten helpful fitness tips to help launch you towards your goals:

⚡️Make a fitness plan
⚡️Don't overwhelm yourself with too many goals, start small and grow from there.
⚡️Get a workout buddy or personal trainer. Accountability is key for success!
⚡️Track your progress using an app tracker and/or watch.
⚡️Appreciate and be kind to yourself. Don't beat yourself up when (not *if* because you will) you have a bad day.
⚡️Just move your body. Walking is highly underrated! Just walk.
⚡️Remember *why* you started. Discipline takes time to cultivate be patient with yourself.
⚡️Keep trying and don't ever give up on yourself! You're worth it, I promise.
⚡️Ask yourself if the meal, snack or drink you're about to eat is fueling your body or just empty calories.
⚡️ Reward yourself.
