Glen Allen Wright, 58, of Loman, Minnesota, unexpectedly passed away on January 6, 2018 in his sleep.
Glen was born in Littlefork, MN on December 11, 1959 to Raymond and Rosalee Wright. He graduated from Indus High School and continued on to receive a Certificate in Diesel Mechanics from Staples Vocational and Technical School.
Glen was married to Christine Ellsworth on August 9, 1985; they were married 10 years. Together Glen and Christine had 2 wonderful children, Shana and Mitchel Wright.
Glen joined his father (Raymond) in the family logging business (Wright Logging) until 1995 when his father retired. Glen went on to get his Millwright license. While he loved logging, and working as a millwright Glen’s true passion was farming the land with his father and grandfather for many years. He was a true steward of the land and taught his children to be the same.
He also enjoyed playing softball, hockey, riding horse, and time at the lake. He always had a large garden and just a few horses to enjoy. Glen was always there for his family and friends when they needed him most. He was actively involved in working with veterans that served our country, and was a dedicated member of the Bemidji Eagles Club.
In the last few months he was with us Glen helped Mitchel build, a ‘state of the art’ deer shack as he called it, and spent quality time with his son for Thanksgiving and into deer season. He traveled to Texas for two weeks to be with his daughter for Christmas. He was truly the happiest he had been in a long time being able to spend this time with them.
Glen is survived by his two children, Shana Wright (daughter) of Decatur Texas, Mitchel Wright (son) of Valley City, ND; his 6 sisters, Linda (Jim) Gustafson, Dixie (Bruce) Ford, Dawn (Mike) Pelland, Melanie (Brian) Danz, Cathy (Brett) Baudette, Pam (Tom) VanDamme; his many nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.
Glen is joining his parents, Raymond Wright and Rosalee Wright; and his unborn son, and infant brother in heaven.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on January 20, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church. Pastor Tim Zook of Black River Mennonite Church will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Loman Cemetery following the funeral service. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Green Larson Funeral Home in International Falls, MN.
