Learn discipline, increase focus, get fit, and enjoy the company of friends, all while training to become a Ninja! Martial Arts and its Benefits:
As you ponder the idea of training in the martial arts, you may wonder, what is in it for me and my family? Well, at West Winds Martial Arts Academy our main mission is to increase the quality of life in our students and their families in many ways. The
numerous benefits of traditional martial arts training have been long studied and are well documented. Parents will benefit from the increased focus, respect, discipline, and overall attitudes of their children as we work with them to teach them critical life skills and enforce the many valuable life lessons you already teach at home. Children enjoy a fun positive outlet to release pent up energy and apply critical thinking and creativity as well as gain a great sense of achievement as they advance towards their black belt goals. All students will enjoy increased physical fitness and flexibility, greater focus, reduced stress, boosted confidence and much much more! All this while enjoying themselves and learning practical, effective self-defense tools in a safe and dynamic environment! The key here of course is training in an environment that encourages such growth, with a teacher prepared to help his students truly achieve their every goal. Our Instructor:
Our chief instructor, Anthony Gonzalo, has been training for 25 yrs in various martial art styles and currently holds a rank of 3rd Degree black belt in both Hapkido, and Taekwondo, as well as ranks in other arts such as Judo, Kenpo, Goju-ryu, Bushido, and Jeet Kune Do. He began teaching as an assistant instructor in CA in 1996 and has continued pursuing his passion in martial arts through training and instruction ever since. In addition to his martial arts training, Mr. Gonzalo is an 8 year Army veteran, a certified Personal Trainer, a massage therapist and most importantly a proud father. His zest for knowledge and continued study in martial arts, philosophy, child and adolescent education, nutrition, and physical conditioning allows his students to reap the benefits by enjoying the latest, most up-to-date information in martial arts and over-all health and wellness. The training he provides reaches far beyond that of learning how to defend oneself. At West Winds students enjoy a traditional training environment based upon mutual respect and courtesy. Why Now?:
West Winds Martial Academy is currently teaching classes in both Hamilton and Lolo Montana, but it is still very much a young, growing studio. Students currently enrolled in our program and those coming on board in the near future get to be apart of the schools growth, making them natural leaders and allowing them a great deal more individual time with our Chief Instructor. With more individualized training, you will progress faster and refine your skills better in less time than those who join after our student base has expanded. While Mr. Gonzalo will always strive for the best quality instruction no matter how large our school grows, joining now simply gives him the ability to give you more. What Style is Best for You?:
At West Winds Martial Arts Academy we currently teach Olympic Style Taekwondo and Combat Hapkido. Some students prefer one style to the other, while other West Winds students gladly train in both styles. While the taekwondo training is more physically demanding and largely considered a sport style, the Instructors have incorporated basic kickboxing and Jeet Kune Do techniques at the earliest levels to ensure all students have some application to self-defense. Combat Hapkido is strictly for self-defense and is much more mentally demanding. It can be practiced and applied effectively by anyone of proper maturity no matter their size, strength, or disability. Whatever style you choose we are confident you will enjoy your training and all the many benefits that come along with it. We look forward to meeting you and your family!
