❓Curious as to what a Sound Bath is: ❓
A sound bath is a guided relaxation session where you’re “bathed” in layered sound.
• Shifts brainwave activity — The slow, repetitive tones encourage a drop from alert beta waves into theta and alpha states, similar to the edge of sleep or deep meditation.
• Activates the parasympathetic nervous system — Low, sustained frequencies signal safety to the vagus nerve, lowering heart rate, blood pressure, and cortisol.
• Interrupts rumination — Sound gives the mind something ambient to rest on instead of looping thoughts, which is why people often describe it as quieting “mental noise” faster than silent meditation does.
• Entrainment — The theory is that the body’s internal rhythms — heart rate, breath, even brainwaves — start to sync toward the slower external rhythm of the sound, a phenomenon called entrainment.
Most people come out reporting a felt sense of being “defragged” — looser muscles, slower breath, and a mental quiet that’s hard to get from stretching or exercise alone, since it works through the auditory-vagal pathway rather than the musculoskeletal one.
