Our last tournament before our Missouri World Series took us to the west side. Bats were on fire just like the temps today!

Game 1 we faced the Misfits. Came out early and scored 9, with 1 out in the 1st and never looked back. Pitching and defense was tough. Played a complete game while executing several good plays. Crush wins 15-0.

Game 2 put us against West Ga Nightmare 2030. We also got off to a fast start in this one. Scoring 4 runs with some clutch 2 out hitting. Pitching again was tough as we threw a no hitter. Runs were a little harder to come by after the first, but we secured a 5-0 win.

Unfortunately, during the 3rd pool game, weather had the upper hand. After 2 lightning delays the tourney was called.

We finished 2-0 in pool play only allowing 1 hit, giving up no runs. Bling, bling, we got the ring! 💍

The girls played great today. They played hard together and even had a visit from a couple of college coaches who just happened to be in the area and wanted to watch some softball. Back to work next week to work hard and prepare for our World Series in Missouri. Keep grinding ladies!

Softball was invented by George Hancock in 1887, a reporter for the Chicago Board. The game was initially created as an indoor sport, which is why some call softball an indoor baseball. Interestingly, it has also been called mushball or kittenball.

In 1933, the Amateur Softball Association of America (ASAA) organized softball in the United States. Originally played by men, women began playing softball after the ASAA organization was created. It’s believed that American servicemen during WWII helped spread the sport to the rest of the world after the servicemen played and taught the sport in countries where they served. The International Softball Federation (ISF) was formed in 1965, with the world headquarters and training center located in Plant City, Florida. There are around 127 national governing bodies, representing countries around the world.

June 13 marked the date it was announced softball would be included in the Summer Olympics. World Softball Day has been held every year since 2005.

Crush girls were back at it for day 2️⃣. Finished the day 2-1 for a 3rd place finish, and going 4-2 on the weekend. After the way we started yesterday, we played 3 really good games in between, and just went a little flat in the semi finals. Battling constant rain mixed in with a couple of early miscues, we couldn’t pull out a win.

Pool Game 4-We faced a young, but very talented team in the Arsenal. We came out and scored early and often. A few runs mixed in with defense and great pitching, we secured a 6-0 win.

Bracket Game 1-We had a rematch with Dynasty. Yesterday it was a battle to the end. Today we came out aggressive and swinging early. We scored 10 in the first. Pitching was great as we were hitting our spots and spinning the ball well. We walked away with a 12-0 win.

Bracket Game 2-We had another rematch with Gametime Stars. This one we played in heavy, constant rain and it immediately took away our game plan and mindset. We went down early, 3-0 and just couldn’t get anything going. We scored 1 late but unfortunately lost 5-1.

Overall, a great weekend with 6 games played. We learned more about ourselves as we were down in 3 of the 6 games but seemed to find a way to battle. It’s never about the wins and losses. These young ladies faced some tough pitching and good teams.
