Stuck it on the podium again, just outside the top step though.
We had a great night of racing. First off, hats off to Windy Hollow Speedway for getting that show off the ground after the weather they had roll through. It was a muddy mess everywhere except on track. The track was actually really good, and I'm impressed with what they managed. Also, they packed the house. It was awesome to put on a show for such a big crowd.
Car was good all night. 3rd quick in hot laps, and 5th quick in qualifying.
Started the heat race in second, and almost blew it a couple times by getting into turn 1 too high, bit I managed to get my act together and take 2nd place.
We had a redraw in front of the crowd, and threw some signed frisbees out. I redrew the #4 so I started 4th in the a main. I ran there for most of the race, a mechanical failure out front put me to 3rd, then the race was on, it was a 3 car battle for the lead all the way to the checkered flag. I managed to bring it home in second place, right behind the race winner Chad Freeman.
Overall the night was a success, and a lot of fun. This is proving to be the start of a heck of a season. I am currently holding the points lead by 2 pts if my calculations are correct.
Next race with the series is June 12th at Coles County speedway.
