THE WAIT IS OVER.
As of yesterday (October 9, 2026), the ATF issued new guidance following the Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF ruling. They are no longer enforcing the old NFA tax stamp, Form 4, and registration requirements for suppressors.
What this means for you in Louisiana:
You can now purchase a suppressor from Stateline Precision on a standard Form 4473 with a normal background check — no tax stamp, no months-long wait, and no fingerprint cards required.
Louisiana law (R.S. 56:116.6) still allows the use of a legally possessed suppressor for hunting game birds, wild quadrupeds, outlaw quadrupeds, nutria, and beaver.
We can walk you through your options so you stay compliant with both the new federal guidance and Louisiana hunting regulations.
Stop by Stateline Precision or message us today.
Quiet hunting season starts now.
