Christmas gift for my brother. He said he wanted another knife. So, I took my designs and materials to my dad’s house (also a knife maker) and let him choose. This is what he picked out. I used my dad’s machines and this is the end result. Not my best work, but he loves it.

I know I’m doing it the hard way, but I have to keep the skills up. It would be easier with a fire log, but I haven’t tried out the awesome fire starter kit from . His ferro rod he sent me worked like a charm. A true outdoorsman, he also has a giving spirit and I’ve found to be a compassionate and true man. I also used my knife from to cut the wood and make the curls. I love trying knives from other makers. I have to say I love how this knife from Malone Knives has kept an edge. The knife making and outdoor community is amazing. Get plugged into it and into these guys.

First knives I’ve started in probably eight months. I’ve had a lot on my plate and really didn’t have the desire. It was nice getting back out there, even if it was in the 20’s. I hope to put some holes in them and throw them in the fire soon.
