🐾 Wildcat Spotlight of the Week 🐾
🎉 Happy Birthday, Jonathan Spry! 🎉
This week’s spotlight goes to a true Wildcat through and through — Jonathan Spry, Class of 1999!
For an incredible 45 years, Jonathan has been a dedicated Logan Wildcat fan. From being just an 11-year-old celebrating in the locker room after a big regional win, to becoming a constant presence at games, his love for Logan athletics has never faded.
During his high school years (1996–1999), Jonathan served as a basketball manager under head coach Tim Murphy, staying closely connected to the game he loves most. Today, you can still find him supporting the Wildcats at just about every home game — basketball, baseball, and football.
He’s been around some great coaches over the years, including Vic Herbert, Tim Murphy, and Mark Hatcher, with his favorite being Willie Akers, who he first remembers seeing lead Logan to the State Tournament in 1983.
When asked what Logan means to him, he said it best:
“To me, there ain’t nothing like coming here to these games.”
Outside of sports, Jonathan enjoys hunting and fishing and has been a dedicated member of his church since the early ‘90s.
When it comes to Wildcat basketball legends, he quickly names a few: Willie Coleman, Deondre Murphy, Jeff Miller, Greg Bartram — and of course, Scotty and Stevie Browning. As he puts it, “We’ve seen quite a few good teams come from here.”
From decades of loyalty to unmatched dedication, Jonathan truly represents what it means to be a Logan Wildcat.
🐾 Once again, Happy Birthday, Jonathan! 🐾
We’re proud to have fans like you in the Wildcat family!
