The Logan ballet school known for bringing beloved story ballets to Cache Valley—including The Night Before Christmas, Hansel and Gretel, and Velveteen Rabbit—is launching a new Company Training Program for the 2026–27 season.
The audition-only program is designed for serious young dancers who seek rigorous classical ballet training, meaningful performance experience, and preparation for advanced study or professional opportunities.
“For nearly 15 years, it has been my privilege to be part of the ballet journeys of professional dancers from Cache Valley,” said Steffanie Casperson, Ballet Aligned’s Artistic Director. “A ballet career is demanding, but it is a beautiful path. It is especially meaningful to mentor young artists as they discover what they are capable of achieving.”
Casperson danced professionally with Ballet West and brings both professional experience and a deep personal investment in the next generation of dancers. Her son, Kai Casperson, whom she trained, now performs with that company. “Ballet Aligned did not exist when my son decided he wanted a ballet career,” Casperson said. “This program grew from a need I saw: local dancers deserve exceptional training that can open doors beyond Cache Valley while allowing them to build artistry, confidence, discipline, and technical excellence close to home.”
Ballet Aligned’s faculty brings experience from several prominent Utah training pathways. Two faculty members hold ballet degrees from the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, while another trained through Ballet West’s nationally respected Pre-Professional Program. Faculty members also include artists who have performed leading roles in locally produced, full-length classical ballets, including Brianne Coorbridge, a former student of Casperson’s.
“Our faculty understands the expectations dancers will encounter at universities, pre-professional programs, and in performance settings,” Casperson said. “Together, we can help students build the preparation and confidence to pursue ambitious next steps.”
The Company Training Program will accept dancers beginning at age 10. Its individualized schedules (unique to the program) are designed to support each dancer’s technical and artistic development. In addition, every company member—regardless of age—will have a pathway toward solo and featured performance opportunities.
“At the heart of this program is a commitment to each dancer’s individual potential,” Casperson said. “We want students to be challenged, supported, and given meaningful opportunities to grow as artists. We are excited to support the next generation as far as their dreams extend."
Admission is by audition only. The free audition will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ballet Aligned in the Dansante Building, 59 South 100 West, Logan.
