Travis McCullough will make his Spears Srl Southwest Tour Series Pro Late Model debut at The New Stockton 99 Speedway this weekend in a Hamke Racecars chassis car purchased from Matt Wendt. The Spears Modified Series competitor currently sits fourth in the Mod championship standings and will take advantage of the series Summer Break to make his Pro Late Model debut. Not only will he be in a new, unfamiliar car, it will be at a track at which he has minimal experience.
"Stockton is a already a challenging track for most drivers, and topping it for me, it will be my third time racing there in my life" McCullough admitted. "Changing classes into a Pro will have its ups and downs, learning a new car and series. Luckily tires are the same as what I run in Mods, so hopefully it won't be much different. I sat in the car at the shop, but haven't drove it at all yet, so tomorrow will be a learning curve."
McCullough will be taking on a familiar foe, as he has raced wheel to wheel with championship leader Jeremy Doss Motorsports over the last two seasons. Can McCullough best his Modified rival, as he has done twice this season? Come out to Stockton 99 Speedway to find out this weekend.
McCullough is thankful for the opportunity to compete this weekend and for a new sponsor, who helped make it possible.
"I'd like to say a big thank you to our new sponsor California Rock and Ready Mix out of Lodi CA. "Concrete from plant to your house for big or small jobs"".
