Yesterdays work. Not the most picturesque place to take the photo but they were still drying and best not moved. This also shows that there’s a much more grimy side to leather work. You have to come dressed for work ‘cause yer gonna get dirty! These will be for sale soon.

Anyone up for a Monday bargain? I made these several years ago when I was still taking custom orders as a backup pair and forgot ‘em. 8’ long round split reins in black harness leather, reinforced waterloop ends with stainless steel snaps and braided popper tails. I’m certainly not a good photographer but I need to find an alternative to the way I’m shooting now. The colors just don’t come out right and the leather always look super dark and dull. I’ve had several comments from folks saying they thought the recent headstalls looked black when they are in fact dark chocolate. Here’s a random snap from the other day and you can see the colors better. They really are much prettier in person. The butterfly headstall of course was for a friend but the bottom one is for sale if anyone is interested. 1” wide JI one ear, fully tooled with buckle made by Dale Scribner of OK and marked as such. $355 and free shipping in the lower 48.

Sometimes we do things out of friendship. Sometimes we do things out of gratitude. Other times I do things simply because I feel like it. This piece checks all the boxes. Here is a 1” wide, one ear with my funky little stitched ear loop made for Sharon Ward and Kelsey Ward Lunceford. The Ward family has been steady customers of ours for almost 20 years. They’ve purchased just about everything we make and sell from saddles, pads, bits, lots and lots of bridles and headstalls. Sharon and Kelsey sent me this buckle with the butterflies 🦋 saying that it was in remembrance of Sharon’s mother who had passed. I simply couldn’t say no. So Ms. Sharon and Ms. Kelsey, thank you for all you’ve done for us over the years, this one’s on us. We appreciate the business and your friendship. No charge.

Hey folks, how about a couple of Friday “screw ups” (yea screw ups, let’s say screw ups.)

SOLD!!! I have 2 doubled and stitched standard off billets, dark oiled, that have stitching errors as shown in the photo. Heavy duty and perfectly fine otherwise. Reg. $55 each but I’ll do these for $45 each or $80 for the pair and I’ll cover the shipping in the lower 48.

Also have a 1/2 breed off billet that is suppose to be 72” long but I absentmindedly cut this one at 60”. Would work for a smaller cob size or pony. Regularly $55 but I’ll do this one for $45 and I’ll cover the shipping in the lower 48.

Coming soon! Finally getting some inventory built between web orders and all the other distractions life seems to throw at us now days. We’ll have these and more on our next Wednesday evening offerings in July. Most are done in my fav dark chocolate, several others will be in medium brown depending on the hardware color. All are tooled identically. Stay tuned!

Finished and headed out today…..finally! I’ve made and remade this piece 3 times to get it to where I was satisfied with it. Many thanks to Scott Schumann for your order and your patience.

3/4” JI style one ear, fully tooled with hardware by our friend Brian Strange of Kansas. Fine stitched at 7 stitches per inch, dark chocolate leather with diamond tooling. Turned out kinda pretty.
