Ahh, baseball… As our 12U season comes to a close nothing from past seasons could have prepared me enough for all the success, struggles, the hot streaks, or the cold streaks that this season would bring on. We competed in our end of season WS at The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Games certainly didn’t go our way and for such a great group of boys, it was not the outcome any coach, parent, or fan could have expected. These boys have worked extremely hard all year and battled so hard at practice and weekend tournaments to be best prepared for what this week would entail; and we came up short. Sometimes the reasons why are harder to understand than the results themselves! All that being said, I wouldn’t want to change anything from this season. Hopefully the rough end doesn’t derail what they’ve accomplished this season. We’ve been through rougher seasons overall than this one and always found a way to show up the following season with a renewed hope and vision for the future. That vision doesn’t change! It may be difficult to equal or exceed this season, but I have no doubt that in a couple of short months, we will show up with an eagerness and optimism to give it everything we’ve got. Thank you to every player, parent, coach, and fan who’ve been with us since early August of 2025. Hopefully we were able to bring joy to you and play an exciting form of baseball. This is known as a game of failure and as true as that statement may be, the 12 boys that wore the SS on their cap and the STING across their chest are the furthest thing from failure in our eyes! This game is hard; wins are exciting and losses can be devastating, but lessons learned and memories made thru competitiveness and hard work can help guide these young boys to future success both on and off the diamond. It’s been fun Southern Sting 12U…
See ya n a few months.
