Danny Randall Named Head Coach of the Chicago Union (NCDC)
The Chicago Union is proud to announce Daniel Randall as Head Coach. Bringing one of the most proven and culture-driven leaders in junior hockey to the helm of Chicago’s first Tier 2 program in over two decades.
Randall is a former USPHL Coach of the Year and architect of several successful junior hockey programs. He has built his coaching reputation on more than wins, he builds identities. From launching franchises to leading teams deep into playoffs, his track record reflects a commitment to teaching structure, accountability, and player advancement. What separates Randall from most is how he creates a successful team culture.
A former U.S. Army Staff Sergeant with multiple combat deployments, Randall brings a standard rooted in leadership, discipline, and toughness. His teams don’t just compete, they play with purpose. Every player is held to a higher standard. Every day is an opportunity to grow. A focused mindset that translates to success and can advance players to higher levels, including the NCAA and Pro.
Randall’s philosophy is relationships. He is known for building real connections with his players. Earning trust, demanding honesty, and creating an environment where young men push to become their best both on and off the ice. His locker rooms are tight, his teams are resilient, and his players leave better than they arrived.
Now, he will take on the challenge of building something historic in Chicago hockey.
For the inaugural season of the Chicago Union, Randall forges a role that is bigger than hockey, to build a strong foundation, setting a high standard, and forming a culture that will help define Tier 2 hockey in Illinois for years to come.
Our vision is clear: to build a disciplined team that reflects the pride of young men honoring their sport, competing and earning their success.
This is not just the start of a new team, this is the beginning of a Union.
