The Chicago Union extended their unbeaten start Wednesday night, defeating the Minnesota Blue Ox 5–4 in overtime at Summit Ice Center South.

This one means a little more.

Tonight, the team presented me with the puck from the first win in Chicago Union franchise history. It’s something I’ll keep forever—not because of the puck itself, but because of what it represents.

A tremendous amount of work went into getting the Chicago Union to this point. There were long days, difficult decisions, plenty of challenges, and a lot of people who believed in what we were building before there was ever a win to celebrate.

To our players and coaches: thank you. Being presented with this puck by you guys tonight was incredibly special. I’m proud of this group, proud of what you accomplished, and grateful that I get to be a small part of it.

The first one is officially in the books.

And nobody can ever take it away from us.
