Look at that big ol’ smile! 😂🐷

Praline is loving the fact that we haven’t weed-eated her little area yet, so she’s been spending her day tucked down in the tall grass, fully convinced she’s found the perfect hiding spot and nobody can see her.

We don’t have the heart to tell her that we can, in fact, still see her… so for now, Praline remains hidden in her mind.🤍

What better pair than a dad who got out of livestock completely before I was born, and a daughter who drug him right back into it with all these horses😂

God bless a family that’ll help you before work, after work, and on their days off when there’s hay to put out and farm chores to be done. I sure couldn’t keep this place running without mine.

Sorry Dad, I reckon you’re back in the livestock business for good now. 😂

Today makes one whole year since we brought River home🤍

Last September, he was just a little fella (only 6 months old) and my head came up over his back. This September, he towers over me, with his back way above my head—and the best part is, he’s still far from full grown.

I said it the day I bought him, and he’s proved it every day since—there’s just somethin’ special about River.

Oh, the places you’ve already taken me, before you’re even old enough for me to get on your back. I can only imagine where we’ll go from here. 🤍

Here’s to one year home, River boy.

A day off school is always better spent with Clydesdales. 🤍

We had the sweetest grandparents bring their grandsons out to Wilder Blue for a private tour, and we loved getting to spend some time showing them around and introducing them to our gentle giants.

Some of the best days are the simple ones—family, big smiles, fresh air, and a whole lot of horse love on!

Sometimes it takes a quiet moment like this to remind me just how blessed I really am. 🤍

Life around the ranch gets hectic. There’s always something that needs to be done, an animal that needs tending to, or something running through my mind. And then there’s Atka—stepping over just because he wants a hug and standing there while I rest my head against him, reminding me to slow down for a minute.

Atka and I have taken a pretty similar path. We both started in Louisiana, made our way to Montana where we learned more than we ever could’ve imagined, and eventually found our way back home. We’ve done a lot of growing and learning together along the way.

When I chose the name Atka for him, I chose it because it means “Guardian Spirit” in the Inuit language. Little did I know then just how perfectly that name would come to fit him. Through all the changes life has brought since, he’s been a steady presence beside me- loving me, teaching me, and humbling me a time or two along the way. 😅

Today, I’m blessed enough to have Ahyoka, my very first horse, Atka, my heart horse, and the Clydesdales I spent years dreaming about—all at the same time.

Sometimes, we get so busy taking care of the life we once prayed for that we forget to stop and take it all in.

Thankfully, my heart horse has a way of reminding me. 🤍

Farrier day for our little (not so little) Relic! 🤍

Relic picks up all four feet and lets us clean them regularly, and she’s had her feet worked with before—but this was her first full trim on all four!

Judging by this video, you’d think she handled it like an old pro. 😂 She was a little confused and concerned about what all the tools were doing to her hooves, and what our videographer didn’t catch was the little rodeo that happened before this part. 😂 But in the end, she settled down, was a good girl, and let her farrier get a full trim done on all four feet! 🤍

That’s the thing about young horses—sometimes they act like they’ve been doing something their whole lives, and the next time they’re pretty sure they’ve never seen it before. 😂 Relic may already be massive, but at the end of the day, she’s still a baby. Experiences like these are all part of teaching her to stand patiently, trust the people handling her, and become a safe, well-mannered horse as she continues to grow.

One of the best parts of having a breeding program is getting to work with horses at every stage of life. The older, more seasoned horses give you confidence in what you know, while the young ones can make you feel like you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing at times. 😂 They challenge your patience, your timing, and your ability to read each individual horse—and in the process, they continue to make you grow into a better horseman right alongside them. 🤍

And looking at how dry the ground was when we filmed this, we sure wish it still looked like that around here! 😅 Just a reminder that our Red, White & Wilder Blue Event & Market this Sunday has been canceled due to weather. 🌧️ But don’t worry—we’re already looking ahead! Dates for our Fall event will be announced soon! 🍂🐴🤍

Unfortunately, Red, White, & Wilder Blue is CANCELED due to weather. 💔🌧️

This is definitely not the announcement we wanted to make! The area of the ranch where we planned to have the market and event is great when it’s dry, but once it gets wet, it quickly turns into a muddy mess. After all the rain we’ve gotten over the last week, the grounds are already extremely wet and muddy.

We were really holding out hope that we’d get enough dry weather this week for everything to firm back up, but with our rain chances increasing again throughout the weekend, the weather just isn’t in our favor for this one. Between the event area itself and the amount of parking we would lose because of the wet ground, we don’t feel like we can safely and comfortably accommodate everyone we were expecting.

As much as we hate to do it, we’d rather make the call now than have our vendors, musicians, food vendors, and all of you prepare to come out only for the conditions to get worse.

We’re so thankful for everyone who planned to spend their Sunday with us and for all of the vendors who were going to be a part of our market. 🤍 We hate that we won’t get to have Red, White, & Wilder Blue this year, but this definitely won’t be our last event! We’re already looking forward to a fall event and, of course, our 2nd annual Christmas with the Clydesdales! 🎄🐴
