What a fantastic first week for our Future Stars as our U6 & U7 players kicked off the 2026/27 season! 🙌❤️🖤

There were plenty of smiles, lots of touches on the ball and, most importantly, young players having fun and enjoying the game! Our Future Stars program is all about creating a positive first experience of soccer, developing confidence, fundamental skills and a love for the game from the very beginning.

It was brilliant to see so many young players out on the field, and we can’t wait to watch them learn, grow and have plenty more fun throughout the season! ⭐️

Today, everyone at Soccer For Life pauses to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless acts of courage and sacrifice shown on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor the victims, first responders, emergency personnel, and all those whose lives were impacted by the events of that day.

We remember the bravery.
We remember the unity.
We remember those who never came home.

SFL Staff Development 🧠⚽️📈

Player development is at the heart of everything we do at SFL, but to continue developing our players, we have to make sure our coaches are developing too.

Over the summer, SFL Technical Director Tom Bray led a staff development session focused on the SFL Game Model, ensuring our coaches were aligned, prepared and ready to deliver as we headed into the 2026/27 season.

The session gave our staff the opportunity to share ideas, discuss session content and delivery, and collaborate on how we bring the SFL Game Model to life on the field across different teams and age groups.

And it wasn’t all sitting around talking tactics! Our coaches also got back on the field themselves, participating in sessions delivered by Coach Tom, learning, competing and having plenty of fun along the way! 😂⚽️

We ask our players to be curious, embrace new ideas and constantly look for ways to improve. We expect exactly the same from our coaches.

Our teams have returned to training, the energy is back, and we’re ready for another season of hard work, competition, development and unforgettable moments across the club.

New teams. New challenges. New goals. Same commitment to creating a player-first environment where our players are encouraged to compete, learn, be creative and keep pushing themselves every single day.

Seton Hall 🆚 Saint Peter’s 🎓⚽️🔥

It’s an SFL Girls Takeover at Owen T. Carroll Field as Seton Hall Women’s Soccer hosts Saint Peter’s University, with some very familiar faces on both sidelines! 👀❤️🖤

SFL’s Coach Georgia will be on the Seton Hall sideline, while Coach Sammy & Coach Poppy will be in the opposite dugout representing Saint Peter’s!

Even better, our SFL Girls players are invited to be part of the action, with the opportunity to walk out alongside the college players as mascots for the lineup announcements and National Anthem. 🙌⚽️

Giving Back To Our Community ☀️⚽️❤️

What a week! 🙌

We’ve just wrapped up a fantastic week of SFL Summer Camp in partnership with Roseland Township, welcoming local players for five days of soccer, development, games, competitions… and, judging by some of these videos, a little bit of chaos along the way! 😂⚽️

This week’s camp was completely FREE for Roseland residents, giving SFL an opportunity to give back to the local community that continues to support our club and programs throughout the year.

A huge thank you to Roseland Township, all of our coaches, and most importantly every player who joined us and brought so much energy and enthusiasm to the field each day. ❤️🖤

Head Coach — Saint Peter’s University 🎓⚽️

Coach Sammy leads the Saint Peter’s University Women’s Soccer program at the NCAA Division I level while also serving as SFL’s Zone 2 Director.

His experience at the college level brings invaluable insight into the demands of the game as players progress toward older age groups, high school, and beyond.

Earlier this summer, Coach Poppy joined Coach Sammy at Saint Peter’s University as an Assistant Coach with the Division I women’s soccer program.

At SFL, Poppy recently stepped into the role of Future Stars Director, overseeing our youngest player pathway across the U4–U8 age groups, while continuing her club coaching responsibilities.

From a player’s first touches on the ball to the Division I college game, a fantastic range of experience to have within our staff. ⭐️❤️🖤

And just like that, Week 3 of SFL Summer Camp is in the books! 👏

It’s been another brilliant week filled with skill development, competitions, small-sided games, plenty of laughs, and most importantly, players enjoying the game in a positive, player-first environment. ❤️🖤

A huge thank you to all of our campers for bringing fantastic energy, effort, and enthusiasm throughout the week, and to our coaches and families for helping make it another memorable SFL camp experience.

 Coach Poppy Joins SFL Full-Time ⚽️🔥

We are delighted to announce that Coach Poppy has joined SFL on a full-time basis, becoming the new Director of our Future Stars Program while continuing her coaching duties with various teams across the club. 👏

Poppy has already made a tremendous impact at SFL through her energy, personality, and genuine passion for helping players grow in confidence, ability, and love for the game. In her new role, she will lead the continued development and expansion of Future Stars, our completely free program for U6 and U7 players taking their first steps in soccer. ⭐️

Alongside her work at SFL, Poppy recently became Assistant Coach of the Saint Peter’s University Women’s Soccer program, working alongside SFL’s Coach Sammy Adjei. She is now one of four NCAA Division I women’s college coaches on the SFL coaching staff, adding even more high-level experience to our player-first environment. 🎓⚽️

We’re incredibly excited to have Poppy join us full-time and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make across the club.
