AMOROSI MARTIAL ARTS HISTORY WAS MADE.
Please join us in congratulating Sensei Chris Rysz on his promotion to the rank and title of Sensei.
In the 34-year history of Amorosi Martial Arts, only eleven individuals have earned the privilege of being called “Sensei.” It is not a rank that is requested, expected, or simply awarded through time served. It is a title reserved for those who demonstrate years of unwavering dedication, leadership, character, technical proficiency, and commitment to preserving and advancing the standards of our organization.
Sensei Chris began training at Amorosi Martial Arts in 2011 at just 7 years old. He earned his Black Belt in 2016 at the age of 13 and continued his journey with the same determination and humility that have defined his path ever since.
In January of 2021, Chris committed himself to the Deshi Program, entering into a formal apprenticeship under the direct tutelage of Grandmaster Shihan Amorosi. Over the next five years, he underwent extensive written, physical, instructional, and leadership evaluations while serving our students, families, and community.
Many know Sensei Chris as an integral part behind our SenseiTional Pre-K Martial Arts Program. Through his passion, patience, and commitment to teaching, he has helped introduce countless young children to the values that define our organization: Respect, Discipline, Control, Spirit, Integrity, Modesty, Perseverance, and Strategy.
His journey has not been without adversity. Throughout his life, Chris has faced challenges including Type 1 diabetes and hearing impairment. Yet he has never allowed obstacles to define him. Instead, he has met every challenge with resilience, perseverance, and quiet determination—qualities that have made him an exceptional role model for our students.
After years of preparation, sacrifice, and service, Grandmaster Shihan Amorosi recently promoted Chris to Sensei status, making him the first individual to earn this distinction at Amorosi Martial Arts in more than fifteen years.
Today, Sensei Chris joins a very small and distinguished group whose responsibility extends far beyond teaching technique. As a Sensei, he now carries the duty of preserving our traditions, mentoring future generations, and helping guide the continued growth of Amorosi Martial Arts.
Congratulations, Sensei Chris. Your journey, commitment, and example embody what Amorosi Martial Arts represents.
Osu.
