The nerve block is done, now it’s time to get to work!

Current protocol…
- CPM 3x daily, 2hrs each, increase 5* daily
- Ice whenever possible
- Exercises every hour (except when on CPM)

I can officially shower now too!

There weren’t any openings for PT this week, so I’ll start therapy in June. For now I’ll be doing everything I can to get things going from home!

My ACL has been reconstructed! Let the recovery begin!

I was way more nervous going into surgery this time, because of how badly the first one threw me for a loop.

In 2022 I puked at least 5-6 times after and was incredibly loopy after (and with a nerve block trying to go up starts to get into the house when you’re high as a kite isn’t fun for anyone!)

This time they adjusted my nausea meds and I woke up totally fine, no puking and a lot more lucid than last time!

The biggest blessing though was they didn’t even have to repair my meniscus! The MRI wasn’t clear what type of damage there was, so when they got in there they realized there wasn’t any damage at all!! šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

So I only have to worry about rehabbing the ACL, no lockout under load for 6 weeks after like last time!!

That means I can start working on the ACL right away for ROM! I got a CPM machine to passively move my leg and have to be on it for 6hrs a day at first to get ROM back slowly.

This time around it’s already proving to be WAY more smooth and faster than last time!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers yesterday! God has been working through every step!!

(Pic 4 flowers and a puke bag, what else could a girl want?🤣)

There wasn’t a worse way I could have imagined this weekend to end up.

Since tearing my ACL in 2022, injury has always been a fear of mine when I go into races. But I trust my training and I build my confidence back on the box. But sometimes there are just fluke accidents. I’ve done thousands of box overs in practice, and for whatever reason number 17/20 got me on Saturday.

I won’t have a diagnosis until I get an MRI, but I felt a pop and it’s been suspiciously similar to my ACL injury in 22. Praying it’s just a sprain, but I have a bad feeling about this one.

Physically it’s swollen, but not painful and weight bearing. I’m getting around better today too. I have an appointment with my orthopedic Doc later this week to get the ball rolling.

Mentally it’s already been rough. I know what ACL surgery & recovery is like and I’d hoped never to have to repeat that. It was one of my darkest seasons and it honestly scares me to think about facing that again.

But we don’t know if it’s an ACL yet, so I’m getting ahead of myself. My plan is taking it one day at a time and rolling with whatever lies ahead. Resilience is built not given.

I’m also hoping to be much more candid with this injury. In 2022 I wasn’t in a great mental place and didn’t document much. I felt isolated and alone during that recovery, this time I want to stay connected with my hybrid community better.

I’ve already felt overwhelming support from everyone at Austin who I chatted with and everyone who’s messaged me words of support. Thanks everyone I appreciate each one of youā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

I almost wasn’t going to post about this race.

April 24 Deka Strong at Believe Fitness, the event was awesome! I always love coming out to Believe because the vibes can’t be beat!!

But as far as my race went, I was disappointed in it for a while. It wasn’t as fast as I’d hoped, but I learned a whole lot.

Normally I feel like races are a fun challenge, but before this one, I shifted into panic mode and my thoughts went spiraling. (I talked about it in depth in my Fit Tips newsletter this week, so if you want the full story, DM me and I can forward you the email.) It wasn’t a fun experience, but I got out there and gave it my best effort regardless, emptied the tank, and since then I’ve learned some important reframes that can help me next time.

It wasn’t a bad race, it was just another learning experience.

And that’s been my goal all along this season. I’m racing for experience and growth, and this race was definitely a new one for me!

2025 Wrap up 🪩 12 months, 12 pictures

It’s crazy to think where we started this year and how we’ve grown and changed.

Every year feels faster & shorter even if the days are long (especially with a toddler). I’m so thankful for the challenges and opportunities 2025 brought.

So many people are pessimistic when looking back at their year, but every year has its struggles. It’s how you let them grow you that brings meaning to your year. Postpartum recovery was unlike anything I’ve had to overcome before & it sucked, but it changed my perspective and taught me patience with my body as it was recovering.

Thanks for everything 2025, it was a ride!šŸ„‚

2026 I’m coming for ya!

The only thing crazier than this month was my hair on the Strong day😜

I still can’t get over World Champs, I reached a goal I’ve had for 2 years and a dream I’ve had since I was a kid.

In figure skating I was never competitive because my jumping was always my weakest skill, because of that I was super insecure when performing. But I’ve always been a competitive person, and I finally found the sport that compliments both my athletic strengths and passion.

My goal was to podium this year and to have reached that twice and getting gold in my favorite event is so fulfilling.

I reached my goal and I got to live out my dream.

Next season is just around the corner, if you’re looking to dial in your Deka game get the 1:1 support you need to succeed, check out my program, Hybrid Strength!

The new training cycle starts January 5, fill out the application in my bio if you’re interested!
(Application deadline is January 2)

What an end to a roller coaster season!šŸ†

šŸ„‡Winning the Deka Strong Solo AG at worlds has been a goal of mine since my first world champs in ā€˜23. Having baby G put that goal on hold for a bit, but I’m so proud I was able to get back out there again this year, put up a good fight, and finally I did it!

4ļøāƒ£ I got 4th in the Mile Solo Age Group & I’m so proud of that too! It’s not my best race, my pacing went out the window right away, and I honestly didn’t expect much! It was a great learning experience and always great to meet & compete with other great athletes!

🄈 and I finished 2nd in Strong Female Team Age Group! It came down to a burpee battle for first & the girls who won were absolute beasts! It was so fun training and competing with Lauren this year! She’s an awesome athlete & caught on super quick to Deka! Can’t wait to see what’s next for her!

I’m so thankful for my amazing support this season…

All year. Every training block. Every workout counts.

They’ve built the foundation for performance, the muscle, & grit you need to hit the start line with confidence and pride.

Look back. You can trust each of those reps, races, & challenges to lead you through your race. Each one has built the engine & grown you into the athlete uou are today.

Those moments spent in the pain cave have prepared you to embrace the suck, endure to the finish, and leave everything you have out on the course.

World Championships, here we come!!
