Honey 🍯 Bronde… this depth formula was chef’s 😘 take a look 👇🏻

The depth was everything for this look. That’s what adds the warmth or “honey” and what makes the bright face frame pop.
➡️Save this one and try it the next time you need to add some depth and richness to a bronde.

I loved every angle of this one 🤎

▪️Retouch: Youth Lock 2NN & 4NN w/ 20vol
▪️Gloss: Joico LumiShine Gloss 7NB, 9NB & Clear (equal parts)

➡️ The NBs have violet in them which helps to soften the tone and negate the brassiness of raw lift. I used any combination of 7NB and 9NB depending on the desired result and I add clear based on how translucent I want the gloss to be.

Hold on ✋ Look closely 🔎 Can you see where the warmth and richness is coming from?? ….

As stylists when we’re adjusting the tone of a client’s hair our brain automatically goes to ➡️ “What toner should I use??” 🤔 But a lot of times it’s the DEPTH that will make a much bigger impact.

Whenever I was to add warmth and richness my mind immediately goes to my depth formula. And then at the end I choose a toner to complement the base and give the right amount of contrast.

For example, this client has a rich, warm result, but I toned her with a violet. If you look closely you can see that her blonde is actually very neutral. It’s the ribbons of depth around them bring the warmth.

➡️This is a great way to create a warm result without looking gold or “brassy”

It’s fitting that my favorite photo of the year is also my favorite formula 👇🏻👇🏻

Caramel is one of those colors that means very different things to different people. Some people see it as being very warm, closer to copper and others see it as being more of a neutral light brown.

➡️ To me, the Joico NB series makes a true classic caramel. Not too warm and not too cool. It’s also rich and has a lot of reflection which is what makes caramel highlights so beautiful.

➡️ The NBs have violet in them which helps to soften the tone and negate the brassiness of raw lift. I used any combination of 7NB and 9NB depending on the desired result and I add clear based on how translucent I want the gloss to be.

French Vanilla 🍨 Blonde (formulas in caption)

I’m in love with these creamy blonde tones right now. It’s the perfect neutral with just a hint of warmth. It’s light and bright but still soft and natural.

Here’s how we achieved it:

Here are 3 rules that have made me a more successful stylist and oneshot entry 3️⃣

I actually could come up with hundreds of these but today I will share 3 😂

1. Suggesting change often ➡️ one of the most common reasons that new clients are sitting in my chair is because their old stylist was resistant to changing their look. Even tiny tweaks to a color or style can give a client the feeling of a fresh look. So, take an extra 5 min at the start of each appointment to suggest a little change and always be receptive when your clients are asking for something new!

2. Speaking honestly and with confidence ➡️ Clients are coming to you for your expertise. Be honest about expectations, capabilities, limitations and mistakes. And share your expertise with confidence. (If you’re not feeling confident, dive into education and personal development… there are options for every budget, no excuses.)

3. Compete with yourself and celebrate others ➡️ Striving to better yourself over and over again is the key to growth. Competing with others is a growth killer. You get what you put out into the world… watch what happens when you spend your time building other people up 🩷

So how does this relate to this hair?? My client wasn’t totally sure what she wanted to do with her color. I suggested change, gave my advice with honesty and confidence, and my goal was to give her the best color we’ve done on her. We nailed it 🙌🏻

When you want a light, bright blonde, toning can make you a little nervous. I don’t want to drab those highlights BUT I also like the polished look and customized tone that a gloss provides…

➡️ Enter the Blonde Life 12 series

These glosses are translucent enough to keep highlights bright and glowy while also having some serious toning capabilities.

🤩 This is where you can see that less truly is more…

What you leave out truly is just as, if not more, important that than what you lighten.

To create this super dimensional look I used a combination of:

✅ Fine teasy lights (for gray blending)
✅ Chunky weave and tease (for blended ribbons)
✅ Strategically placed depth (to make those highlights pop)

Don’t forget to save these formulas 👇🏻

▪️Foils: Joico Silver Light & 20vol

▪️Root smudge: Joico LumiShine gloss 12g 7SB and Blonde Life Gloss 18g 8N

▪️Gloss: Joico Blonde Life Gloss 35g 12T 35g 12V

▪️Treatment: KBond20

I’m going to let you in a little secret 🤫… Gray blending isn’t always the answer.

Your gray client wants low maintenance hair and your brain immediately says ➡️ go lighter + cooler.

And sometimes it’s actually does the opposite of what your client is asking for.

For this transformation we needed:
→ softer brightness
→ strategic depth
→ warmth that brings her back to life

We kept her blonde, but added a slightly deeper, warmer root and intentional dimension so her color looks richer, healthier, and grows out seamlessly.

And here’s the part I want you to really hear:

Warmth is not the enemy in gray coverage or blonde work.

In fact… it’s usually the missing piece.

Cool + overly light = flat, dull, aging
Warm + reflective = shiny, healthy, youthful

If your goal is lived-in, expensive-looking blonde…
stop trying to match the gray and start enhancing the overall tone of the hair.

That’s how you get color that actually lasts between appointments.
