Meet Kanō Jigoro, founder of Judo. Despite being a small man, he could throw large men easily, but only after persistent studying and practice. On his death bed he asked to be buried in a white belt instead of a black belt. He wanted to be remembered as a learner, not a master.

The 2023 Colorado Open Judo Championship will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Foothills Fieldhouse in Denver, Colorado. Divisions will be available for novice and advanced competitors in the junior, senior and veterans divisions, as well as kata. Athletes from all state are welcome!
