GROUP WORKOUTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK OF 05/25/2026
Happy Memorial Day Weekend. A BIG shout out to RMTC veterans. Thank you for your service and for being part of our awesome club.
Good luck to everyone racing the Bolder Boulder 10K tomorrow. It’s an iconic Colorado race and can be fun for the whole family.
This week kicks off Colorado’s triathlon season. The Harvest Moon Triathlon will take place next Sunday (5/31). RMTC has over 15 people signed up to race either the long course, Olympic distance or Sprint distance. If you are not racing consider volunteering or just being there to cheer on your club teammates.
A few changes in the workout schedule will happen this week. Monday evening swims at Green Mountain Rec Center have ended. However, starting this Wednesday (5/27) evening, Coach Josh Southern will be leading Open Water Swims at the Gravel Pond inside Chatfield State Park. Each week, Josh plans to do lots of open water skills work (sighting, turning, mass starts, swimming in packs, drafting, varying paces, exiting the water, etc.), while also getting in a solid interval-based swim workout.
Also, starting on Monday morning (6/1) Coach Jeanette Sorenson Hickock will be starting a 4 week Triathlon Clinic. The Clinic sessions will be on Monday and Friday moorings at the Gravel Pond in Chatfield State Park. Each session will start at 6 a.m. and run for 60-75 minutes. We'll practicing open water swim, bike and runs. Bricks, swim to bike, swim to run. Mini tri-sessions, form, technique, and faster transitions. This is open to RMTC members for free.
