225 lbs. — full range of motion, controlled reps. 🏋️‍♂️

Squat depth matters. Your goal should be to reach a depth where your hips are at least parallel with your knees, or slightly below, without sacrificing proper form and control.

The deeper you can safely squat with good mechanics, the more mobility, stability, and muscular development you can build through your hips, knees, ankles, and lower back.

More range of motion means the muscles are working through a greater distance, creating more mechanical tension and better training adaptations.

But here's the key: the weight should never jeopardize your form. If you have to sacrifice your positioning just to move more weight, lower the weight.

The exception? Competitive powerlifting. If you're stepping onto a platform, the objective is different—you’re trying to move the most weight possible while meeting the competition's depth standard.

For general strength, fitness, athletic performance, and longevity, earn the weight with your technique.

Control the weight. Own the depth. Build the foundation. Then add the load.

Want to improve your strength, mobility, and technique? Send me a message and let's get you started with a personalized training program. 💪

Ego kills talent.

The person who needs the most attention isn't always the person putting in the most work. Social media rewards what gets noticed—not necessarily what took discipline, patience, or skill to create.

Fitness is no different.

You can chase compliments, likes, and validation—or you can quietly put in the work when nobody is watching.

Ego wants attention.
Talent wants mastery.
Discipline creates results.

Don't train to impress people. Train to become someone you're proud of.

Your body is the one place you have to live every single day. Train it accordingly.

Fitness isn’t about chasing someone else’s body, keeping up with trends, or punishing yourself with workouts you hate.

It’s about being capable.

Strong enough for the unexpected. Mobile enough to keep doing what you love. Confident enough to say yes to the hike, the trip, the challenge, the next adventure — and healthy enough to enjoy all of it.

At True Living Fitness, we train for more than the mirror. We train for life outside the gym.

Build strength. Restore movement. Increase confidence. Expand what your body can do.

Because the goal isn’t just to be fit.

The goal is to LIVE.

Max’s Transformation 🔥

Max lost an estimated 40 lbs in 6 months. But this wasn't just about losing weight—it was about changing his lifestyle.

Here's the truth: transformation is going to suck sometimes. You're going to sacrifice old habits, foods, routines, and sometimes even relationships. You're going to have to build a support system that supports the lifestyle you're trying to create.

Forget the crash diets and the idea that changing your body is always some happy, spiritual experience. Change is uncomfortable. That's the point.

You have to be vulnerable. You have to get uncomfortable. You have to say no sometimes. You can still enjoy the foods you love—just in moderation and when they fit your plan.

Strength improves before your anatomy changes. Performance improves before you see the difference in the mirror. Once you accept the lifestyle instead of fighting it, the rewards start showing up.

Most people know what they need to do. The hard part is doing it consistently.

And here's the biggest issue: anyone can lose weight. Keeping it off is the real challenge.

Medications can change your body, but they don't automatically change your mindset. You still have to build the habits and discipline to maintain the result.

Anything that consistently gets in the way of the regimen you've committed to achieving your goal—that's what you have to change.

You have to build your character to be as strong as your body. 💪

Not every workout should leave you crawling to your car.

The goal is to train with intention.

Today Kathy focused on building strength from the ground up: 🏋️
Deadlifts for total-body power. 🦵
Copenhagen holds to strengthen the inner thighs and improve hip stability. ⚖️
Barbell split squats to improve balance, coordination, and single-leg strength. 🔥
Glute kickbacks to build stronger hips and support the lower back.

This is how you train for a body that performs—not just one that looks good.

If you're ready to stop guessing in the gym and start training with a plan that's built around your goals, I'm here to help.

Visit TrueLivingFitness.com to schedule your free consultation and take the first step toward becoming stronger, healthier, and more confident.

🚨 Ethanol & Sugars (aka Alcohol) 🍻

Let's be honest... it's hard to out-train b**r.

If you're drinking several b**rs every weekend and wondering why your fat loss has stalled, your drinks might be part of the answer.

Alcohol is processed before your body gets back to prioritizing fat burning. Add a bunch of sugar to that drink, and your liver has even more work to do. The more sugar in your drink, the longer it takes your body to process everything, which can slow your progress.

The good news? You don't have to avoid alcohol completely to get results.

Want to catch a buzz without completely derailing your goals? Try lower-sugar options like:
🥃 Ranch Waters (tequila + soda water + lots of lime)
🍸 Vodka sodas with lime

These options are generally lower in sugar and calories than most b**rs, margaritas, frozen drinks, and sugary cocktails.

It's still summer. Concert season, BBQs, camping trips, and patio nights are meant to be enjoyed. Fitness shouldn't make you miss out on life.

Instead of chasing perfection, make better choices more often.

I always tell my clients:
Direction is more important than speed.

Small, consistent changes beat extreme diets every single time. Stay active, eat well most of the time, make smarter drink choices when you can, and enjoy the moments that make summer great.

Progress > Perfection. 💪

🇺🇸 4th of July is right around the corner! 🇺🇸

Next weekend will be filled with family, friends, BBQs, and celebrations, remember that one day won't make or break your progress.

Enjoy the holiday. Make memories. Eat the burger. Have the dessert. Then get right back to your healthy habits.

Fitness isn't about perfection—it's about consistency over time.

A few tips for the holiday weekend:
✅ Stay hydrated
✅ Get some movement in
✅ Prioritize protein
✅ Enjoy your favorite foods without guilt
✅ Focus on balance, not restriction

Had a little more fun than planned? No problem. The next morning, get outside for some fasted cardio, drink plenty of water, and get right back into your routine. One celebration doesn't erase months of hard work.

At True Living Fitness, we believe in building a lifestyle you can enjoy year-round—not one that falls apart during a holiday weekend.

Have a safe, healthy, and happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸💪
