Good morning. I want to clarify the post about J Bar and needing more than 1 rider to attend.
I do not charge for coaching at events, most instructors do. I do not charge for transportation, most instructors do. I charge a very modest fuel charge per student. So basically I make NO money for attending events. Remember that attending events is wear and tear on both my truck and trailer as well as the cost of fuel and my time!! I attend events so students have the opportunity to compete. If only one student attends it doesn't come near to covering the cost of fuel let alone everything else.
So the new rules (starting June 1) are;
* Two or more students must be attending an event.
*Riders MUST be paying students.
*Riders must have a paid lesson on the horse they will be competing on within 1 week prior to competition.
*Riders are responsible for paying their entry fees
*Riders must pay a $15.00 fuel fee ( this price has increased due to the high cost of fuel)
*Riders are responsible for taking care of the horse they are riding (offer water, make sure the hay net is full, fly spray, check on regularly if the horse is tied at the trailer)
*Riders will meet at the barn and assist with trailer prep and loading.
*Riders will return to the barn after the event to assist with unloading the trailer.
I hope you all understand. If you have any questions please reach out.
