Paul Kaster Golf Coaching

Paul Kaster Golf Coaching Retired award-winning golf coach/educator. Now full time 🩰 girl dad, husband and dog dad. Enjoy the present in this crazy world. It can change quickly.

Have you ever wondered why your game doesn’t improve over the long term, even though you try to practice and play regularly? Or why, even when you have a better than average day, there is usually a piece missing that keeps your potential just out of reach? If a golfer’s game is a six-cylinder engine (mental, putting, short game, wedges, iron play and driving) most players feel like their game is r

unning on half its capacity. The reason is that golf is a motor learning sport and requires a long-term, multifaceted approach for genuine improvement. Drawing on his experiences in competitive golf, study and thousands of hours using biomechanical best practices, Paul has created cost-effective coaching programs that guarantee you will leave understanding more about your game, and how to reach your potential.

So obviously I decided to share something kind of personal today haha. Many of you know about my struggles with Lyme Disease. I’ve shared that to make people aware of the risks. Well, another one of those risks is that if Lyme goes undetected for long enough it can really affect your nervous system. I’ve been doing weekly IV treatments to keep me going for 7 years now. I was doing them while I worked a ridiculous schedule and for just about for our daughter’s entire life. Needless to say at first, and for a good year or two, I wasn’t thrilled and felt bad for myself. But now, it’s just part of life and worth it for me to be with my wife and daughter. Retiring from coaching surely wasn’t easy but I’m so glad I have more time for my family and to reconnect with old friends. I’m not here to get sympathy or a pat on the back but really just to say that no matter what hardship you may go through, there really is a way to not just get through it, but to allow it to make you much stronger.

The munchkin’s first science fair today! She chose turbines and wind power and her turbine powered a little electric car. She loves Canva and made all the signage on the computer with only a little formatting help. It was soooo cool to see her in action 💙💙🌬️

Vaidehi Shah () won the New Jersey Women’s Open yesterday! V had 25 putts in her second round to come from three shots back at The Bedens Brook Club with a stellar three-under 70. With her Dad Soumit caddying - which has been the case for two years now. We’ve stayed in close touch since I’ve retired from golf coaching, and words can’t express how proud I am of them both. I knew when I met V and her entire family in 2020 that the sky is the limit for them all

Our daughter performed in her first major dance competition this week - the World Championships! She did great with her team’s interview and pulled her solo off without a hitch. The team didn’t place so we’re learning about sports where judges decide things 💙💙

Meet the Buddhist monk who’s contending at The Open ⬇️

Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana took a short hiatus from professional golf in 2023 to live as a Buddhist monk and practice meditation.

He won twice on the Asian Tour and finished 11th at the 2022 Open at St. Andrews before stepping away.

“I was ordained because I wanted to return the greatest merit and repay my parents,” he said in 2023.

The 27-year-old qualified for The Open at Royal Portrush by winning the Kolon Korea Open in May, part of the Open Qualifying Series.

He currently plays on the Asian Tour and stands No. 262 on the Official World Golf Ranking.

“I was cut off from the rest of the world when I was ordained," he added. "That made me feel more calm. I was able to concentrate more, which will help me improve my game of golf.”

He opened in 3-under 33 Thursday at Royal Portrush, one off the early lead.

A couple of pics from long time client Yashvi Shah’s trip to Augusta National this weekend for the Drive Chip & Putt finals! Yash is 15 and started playing golf when she was 12. I started working with her and her older sister Vaidehi just months into the pandemic. It was a very big stage for Yashvi and even her dad, a huge golfer, was a little overwhelmed by the place.

I’m just very proud that Yashvi achieved this goal of hers, and made it possible for her family and her high school coach (who’s been a huge support for both girls) to attend. Yashvi got back Monday night and went right out the next day to fight for her Bridgewater Raritan H.S. team in the cold and wind here in NJ. Keep an eye out for them again this year!
