Footgolf Arkansas

Footgolf Arkansas Footgolf is a new game that is sweeping the country. It combines golf and soccer into a fun game that can be played by one and all on a scenic golf course.

Footgolf Arkansas was started to help promote the game of Footgolf in the state of Arkansas. This game will help supplement revenues at golf courses as well as introducing people to the game of golf. A similar game called "KickGolf" has been played on the par3 Honors course at The First Tee of Central Arkansas for the past five years by the superintendent Bob Hinn and his family and friends. KickG

olf and Footgolf differ in that KickGolf is played on a short course where all the holes are par 3's and 75 yards or shorter. Scoring was done by hitting the flagpole on the golf green with a soccer ball and counting the kicks it took to hit it. Footgolf is played on a course laid out on a regulation length golf course with par 3's. par 4's, and par 5's. The length of the holes vary from 50 yards to 150 yards. An average par 4 golf hole of 400 yards can accommodate 2-3 Footgolf holes. The Footgolf holes are designed to be played across the fairways and roughs with a very large hole (22") placed on greens in the roughs. The soccer ball is kicked until it enters the hole and the kicks counted. Other than the soccer ball, the size of the hole, and the no hands rule, the rules of Footgolf are almost exactly like golf. I have played golf for the past 35 years, and KickGolf for 5 years, and these are the differences I see in the two games. Obviously Footgolf would be cheaper to play as it only requires a ball and a course, where golf requires clubs, balls, and probably many lessons. Anyone can play Footgolf regardless of age, s*x, or experience. If you can walk and kick a ball, you can play Footgolf. I never played golf with my family due to their limited skills. But I have played KickGolf with my wife, daughter, son, and their friends more times that I care to remember. And the sad part is they regularly beat me at it. It is a social game that anyone can play. And of course there is the fitness issue. After being in the golf business for 35 years I have realized that golf is a sport if you walk, and a game if ride a cart. Footgolf offers a scenic walk along beautiful golf holes averaging about 2.5 miles for 18 holes of Footfolf. The thing that makes Footgolf a viable proposition golf courses is the fact that it takes approximately half the time to play Footgolf as it does to play golf. 18 holes of Footgolf can be played in the time it takes to play 9 holes of golf. This makes it possible for Footgolfers and golfers to play on the same golf course at the same time. W will hopefully be offering play on the First Tee Footgolf course starting in 2015.

⚽⛳ Another great morning at War Memorial Park!

I spent the morning mowing the full 9-hole KickGolf course and putting the target flags back out after this weekend's stadium event.

I also had a chance to visit with Mike and share the design for the new KickGolf Starter Station—a self-service ball rack and information kiosk that will welcome players, provide KickCards, and help everyone get started.

It's exciting to see the vision continue to come together, one step at a time. Every improvement brings us closer to welcoming families, friends, and soccer fans to experience KickGolf.

No clubs. No holes. Just kick and play! ⚽🌿⛳

⚽⛳ Another great day at War Memorial Park!

Sean and I spent the day mowing the fairways, setting the remaining five holes, placing the flags, and marking the locations for the future Kick Markers.

Of course, we couldn't resist playing a few holes ourselves! Every time we play, we're reminded how much fun KickGolf is and how naturally the course fits the landscape.

It's exciting to see the full 9-hole course coming together. Thanks to everyone who's been following the project and supporting us along the way.

Stay tuned... there's more to come! ⚽🌳

What a great day for the KickGolf project.
Today I had the opportunity to introduce the KickGolf Demonstration Course to Little Rock Parks Director Leland Couch and War Memorial Manager Mike Simmons.
We played the course, shared ideas, and had a great time.
It was exciting to see how naturally the game plays and to talk about where the game could go from here.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged and supported KickGolf along the way. More updates coming soon.

KickGolf Progress Report- War Memorial Park
Another productive morning at War Memorial!
Today I mowed all 9 KickGolf fairways, freshened up all around the kick markers, and put the target flags on the 4 holes of the demonstration course.
Every time the fairways are mowed, it's easier to see how naturally the course fits into the natural landscape. What started as an idea is beginning to look and feel like a real recreational course.
The next step is to meet with the parks department to demonstrate the course and, hopefully, get permission to open the 4-hole demonstration course.
Thank you to everyone that has followed the project, shared ideas, and offered encouragement.
KickGolf - Easy to Learn - Easy to Play. Fun for everyone.

Spent the morning back at War Memorial Park mowing the KickGolf course.

Not only did I mow the original four demonstration holes again, but I also mowed the remaining five fairways that complete the first nine-hole layout.

Seeing all nine fairways on the ground instead of just on paper was exciting. The routing fits the natural terrain even better than I had imagined, and it really feels like this course belongs here.

With each mowing, the vision becomes a little more real.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to follow, comment, and support the project. Your encouragement has meant a lot throughout this journey.

We're getting closer every week, and I can't wait to share this new game with the Little Rock community.

KickGolf... Easy to learn. Easy to play. Hard to stop. ⚽⛳

What do you think of bringing KickGolf to War Memorial Park? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

⚽🌳 KICKGOLF AT WAR MEMORIAL PARK – PROJECT UPDATE 🌳⚽

We've been hard at work bringing KickGolf to Little Rock!

The first four holes have been mowed and continue to improve with every cut. This week we're treating the fairways for crabgrass and other weeds so the playing surfaces will be in great shape. After that, we'll keep mowing and refining the course over the next few weeks.

The aerial image at the top of this page shows the long-term vision for the project:
✅ KickGolf Course
✅ Short Course for kids, families, and beginners
✅ Future expansion to a full 18-hole KickGolf course

We're also excited that the Little Rock Parks & Recreation Director plans to come out and give KickGolf a try during the first week of August.

If everything continues on schedule, we're hoping to have the first four holes ready for public play in August, with additional holes added as the project grows.

Thank you to everyone who has followed the project, shared the page, and offered encouragement. Your support is helping turn an old golf course into something new that everyone can enjoy.

If you haven't already, be sure to follow our KickGolf page as well for additional photos, videos, and project updates.
