The psychological response of muscle to trauma of any type, overuse, overstretch, overload, a blow, is first tightening. Tightening is followed by the development of a spasm at the exact spot where the trauma occurred. Hey spasm is a group of fibers held together in a contraction unable to secure its own release, a rigid knot.
Because tightening and spasms are an extension of the normal contraction process, there is nothing that will show up on an X-ray or any other standard testing procedures such as an MRI.
It is however a malfunction!
Any muscle, any portion of the muscle which is not working for you, is working against you.
When this takes place the fascia that surrounds the muscle fibers actually begins to contract creating the problem not just the symptoms so the muscle is actually the symptom and the problem is actually the fascial restriction that lies below. This is where my area of expertise comes into play and is so effective in treating people just like you that have aches and pains and stuff that will not go away.
If by chance you fall into this category please reach out to me I would love to be able to help and love to be able to teach you the why of what's happening.
