Try adding versatility on your next leg day with Offset Deadlifts.

This movement can be performed with dumbbells, kettlebells, or a barbell with one side loaded (as demonstrated) providing versatility in training options for A Kick Above - A Personal Training Studio clients.

This lift requires Imaobong, to engage her core to maintain proper alignment and stability throughout the movement. This significantly develops a stronger core over time. 🤗

Why YBell? Why Not? This is one of the most versatile and fun pieces of equipment I own. I like to use them for push-ups as you can see here but it surely doesn’t stop there. I can use them to assist in push-ups or I can use them as traditional weights. They have three grip options which allow me to find the perfect grip to maintain the perfect form. Let’s be honest, sometimes traditional weights can be awkward but these, with their innovative alternate grips help to take that away. Getting that form right ensures I prevent injury and reach my goals. These are my go to weights to get it all just right.

Need a lifeline? Let me throw you a rope! I love the ropes. Something as simple as a rope can give you a full body workout. Power ropes come in different sizes, weights, and lengths. They can be low impact or kicked up to fat burners in no time. They are great for cardio, working the arms, back, and core while engaging the legs and glutes. Side note, a little rope slamming is also an excellent way to let off a little steam while burning a lot of calories. 🔥🔥🔥

Today is Earth Day. Do you know what it is? It marks the start of the environmental movement in 1970. It’s a great day to get out and enjoy and cherish where we live. Go outside, take in some fresh air, enjoy a walk in the warm sun, appreciate the spring time changes that are happening- blooming trees, the return of greenert, the tulips, and yes the dreaded pollen. Nonetheless, in the moment, realize why we must take care of our environment. That’s the assignment! Enjoy!

This is not your grandma’s squat. This burner is a barbell back squat. There are many variations of squats and each hit different parts of the lower body. This one, in particular, sets that peach on 🔥. It also hits the hip flexors and quadriceps. When done properly, your abs and entire lower body get a workout. No peach cobbler here, only firm whole 🍑’s here!

So about this ball. A little trivia for you. It was actually invented in Italy, not Switzerland, as a toy. American physical therapists named it a “Swiss Ball’ after seeing a Swiss physical therapist use it for rehab. Besides that tidbit, this ball is an excellent tool for training. I use it to help clients increase flexibility, stability, and strengthen their core. Some people even use them as I am here, as a chair! Talk about engaging your core and legs to remain stable on it while sitting. So next time you see one (or even that dusty one at home) pick it up and balance yourself to engage those sleeping muscles.
