We began training about a year ago. His first dead hang was about 15 seconds - to date his longest dead hang is 2 min 12 seconds! He’s also conquered chin ups now. Living proof grip strength will add time to your life, not only time but quality time.

Studies show that owning your body weight adds to longevity of life. Some examples of this would be being able to get up off the floor unassisted, push ups, squats, lunges, but the pull up is the most difficult of them all. Few even try to attempt them and even fewer can perform one rep correctly.
My comrade, Svetlana, demos the correct way to do a tactical pull up here. What is a tactical pull up? Starting from a dead hang, thumbs over the bar, strong core engagement from the hollowed out position, and with each rep the neck or chest must touch the bar. What they are not - they are not neck lunges, and they do not involve swinging, kicking or kipping.

Test these out to see how many reps you can get with a dead stop between each rep. Comment below with your reps.

sent me this video last week. We’ve been training together 2x a week since February, and he gets in 1-2 additional training sessions on his own. He owned the 40kg on this video and came in the next week to set a PR with the 44kg. It’s so awesome to see your clients getting stronger, but it’s about much more than that. Casey has to perform a lot of heavy lifting with his job Due to the physical stress on his body he was seeing a chiropractor on a pretty regular basis prior to beginning kettlebell training. Since then he’s learned more about how to manage and leverage the load which he’s been able to apply with his job. He’s also hasn’t had to visit his chiropractor in several months. Side note, he also catches way more fish now since beginning his kettlebell training, just saying.
