Will someone ask the City Board of their intentions with Hindman! Please, it will only take 3 minutes and be seated!

Golfers, are you tired of driving 30 miles round trip to Bryant for 18 holes of golf? How about crossing the Arkansas River to play either Maumelle Country Club, if you can get a membership, or maybe, Country Club of Arkansas, even a short distance to Burns Park? Some of you even travel 50-60 miles round trip to Cabot, a city that have TWO golf course that don't have 300-400,000 citizen like Little Rock that have only ONE. Does that make any sense? This happened because they shut down two in Little Rock because of the city boards mismanagement. They spent $800,000 on First Tee, and $800,000 on the Trolley that no one ride, taking monies away from Hindman and War Memorial. I wonder where they moving monies around now that they have kill the cow that provided the milk for those? Better still, they haven't said a word about those two (2) programs and haven't mentioned a word in the Board Meetings about golf since they shut down Hindman and War Memorial. There are board members who can't spell the word "golf" let alone know what golfers in this city need that play the game. Why is that? Because they need to be replaced. When something is brough up about golf they get up and the walk out of the meeting. They need to walk out of city hall and let someone who know how to govern a city this size, sit in their seat. We need a new vision for the city when it comes to golf. Your vote counts, these people can't manage or understand what people need when it comes to "anything"! Let me know your thoughts on our next move!

Golfers in Central Arkansas, Little Rock in particular we need to meet and organize our next plan of action. How long will you sit quietly in your carts, waiting 5-6 hours to play golf at Rebsamen? First Tee, it NOT a golf course, and you know it! It seems that the entire City Board has no concerns about "us" the citizens of this great city who want at least two 18 hole golf courses. We don't want a "CROWDED" 5-6 hour round Rebsamen Golf Course! We don't need a 9 nine hole First Tee, that don't let carts out to "anyone" if there is a sprinkle of rain. The City have turned their heads from us, we are NOT even on the agenda any longer. They haven't publicly informed us as to why and what about the golf courses in the City! There are a few on the Board who don't care a "hoot" about golf or the people who play, they have turned their heads and ears toward the west. If "the (west) say they need or want something, it gets done, WHY? Because they will send them a message at the ballot box and they know it! We need to get their attention in the same manner at the ballot in the next election.

Calling ALL golfers in the Little Rock area, one "crowded" city golf course for over 300,000 people!
If some positive things don't start to happen at the start of 2022, there will be an organizational meeting to start our "LMHGA" movement!

"Let's Make Hindman Great Again!

We thought they would do something, with all the talk about developing areas in the city for the people. "Walking trails"- No income, "Bike paths"-No revenue, "Frisbee Golf"-No revenue What is being done for golfers, we are citizen in this city as well! Golfers are people too!!!

In 2022, there will be a call to golfers who want to see HIndman open again, to put pressure on the city to open up that course. Enough, is enough!!! Maybe we need to get our picket signs out and march on city hall and demand they get that course up and running. Are you with us???

09/27/2021

The Hindman Men's Golf Association, well over a 100 men or more, want to know who is make in the rule in the city? Then we want to know why golf is NEVER "ONE" of the priority but always in the last sections on the budget?

08/25/2021

What will 200,000 people do when it comes to recreation in this city with all those parks? In fact Little Rock is a city surrounded by parks! Maybe they will ride on biking trails that run all over the city into major busy streets to cross, (pause) I know, I know, maybe they will use walking paths where they can meet other citizens from the bushes. Listen, this riding bikes and walking things don't produce income!!!! Individuals with money will NOT put themselves in an uncomfortable position either "riding bikes" or "walking on trails" when it comes to their recreation.
City Directors, why not do the smart thing, people will "PAY" to play golf, not ride or walk! Hindman Golf Course, War Memorial need to be opened back up immediately with that increase in numbers! We only have one and a half a.. golf course in a city that's going to keep growing get ahead of the game, this growth is a sign of things to come. There will be others, more opportunities more income , so open Hindman and War Memorial back up, it want take that much, the club houses at both are good, everything is in place to just fix up (fairways and greens) let make Golf in Little Rock great again.

Mr. Mayor, open Hindman up and get the golf vote for your reelection!

Let me tell all you critics about those who volunteer their services so that the golf courses can get "YOU" a clean, sanitized cart to ride on. To those who think that those same volunteers get "free golf". Now let me tell you this, and, it's "Hot off the m...........g press," there is NOTHING in this country free. You must have been watching that Tax commercial, with those actors saying, "Free, free, free and free!" Well go into any golf club house and see if they will let you play for "free"? Better yet, stop by McDonalds, Wendy's , ask for a cup of coffee before coming to the courses and see if they will give to to you for "free"?
We have been hearing that disgruntled golfers have been complaining about the volunteers. They say that those volunteer, (pause) those who volunteer now, is getting "Free, free, free, and free golf". Shut your mouth and face!!!! Obviously, you don't have a clue on how golf courses work.
Let me get you and the people at City Hall straight, first of all those volunteers spend 3-4 hours each and everyday "getting carts out", then when they are brought in at dark mostly, they stay, "sanitize, and wash those same carts so the critics who say they get free, free, free, and free golf can play the next days.
Oh, yes, the City do pay certain individuals at their "pet" golf course to put up carts, but they did "NOT" at Hindman, or War Memorial, and "NOT" at the now half-a.s golf course First Tee. The volunteers at those courses and now First Tee don't get paid, they get no monies ($15 an hour) for the service they provide. You add up how much it would cost the City to pay individual to "put up, clean up carts everyday! To the critics, that's why they have volunteers. Now, take away the so called "free golf" and see how many people would come and do that to a cart for you to sit your butt on and play!!!!
The only thing that the volunteers get, is the opportunity to play for the work they perform. You wanna call that free?
If there are paying customers who have tee times and need carts, guess who give up their carts so patrons can have them? If there are groups who want to play through, guess who would be the first to let them? Volunteers!
Now, the volunteers didn't close down the golf courses, in fact, they came to City Hall (freely, freely, freely) in large numbers to show their support in keeping Hindman and War Memorial open.
It was useless, they had already made up their minds. We didn't hear from "ONE' critic at anything of the City Hall meetings on closing the two golf courses about the free golf the volunteers were getting!!!
We see now that closing down those other two golf courses have frustrated and forced golfers into thinking that the volunteers at First Tee get "Free, free, free, and free golf and is causing all these problems by getting "free, free, free, and free golf. They don't! They do it because at least at First Tee they feel appreciated by Charlie, for their work and he welcomes them for their support.
You critics, stop bitching about the volunteers, you should have done that at City Hall for closing the other two courses. But you didn't, and now we know that it wouldn't have made any difference, they had their minds made up to close Hindman and War Memorial from the beginning.

Somebody tell City Hall we need "another" golf course! Open Hindman up immediately, we are asking that bond issue be put on the ballot, JUST FOR HINDMAN, and see if people want support it! When it passes, and it will, that money will be used for Hindman Golf Course improvements only, not the police department, not for the fire department and especially NOT Rebsamen since they are so great! Then we can find people to work and volunteer on the course for sure. If that's not possible and I don't see why not, or we can ask Stephens Investments to set up something where local investors, can get involved with $1,000, $10,000 or more to get up to $500,000 which about what it would take to operate for a couple of year, and if it doesn't make a profit then shut it down for ever!
Dr. "F" says that there are two (2) things people can do safely fishing and golfing! We got the ponds, lets do one more golf course in Little Rock. A city this large with just ONE golf course doesn't make any sense!!!

01/27/2021

Help! We need another golf course in Little Rock!!!!

01/27/2021

We are hoping that the city has saved enough money to allow the reopening Hindman Golf Course. There is NO earthly reason for this city NOT to have two (2) "full" golf courses. If not seek investors to take on the task to get that golf course opened. The only things that's needed is a skeleton crew, larger pipes at the entrance to keep the water off the course and let the people play golf! They haven't made any money with the set-up they have out there now!!! The city didn't support the course when it was up and running like they should have in the beginning and we hope that attitude has changed after seeing what has happened to golf in this city.

05/04/2020

Question? How much money and how many investors do you think it would take to open Hindman? I'm asking for some friends who want to make it into a Country Club type Golf Course.
