Your back was never designed to hold one “perfect” position all day.
And that includes standing (and sitting).
Notice what I’m doing while finishing my notes:
Standing tall.
Leaning.
Shifting my weight.
Moving into a split stance.
None of those positions are inherently “bad.”
The problem is staying in the SAME position for too long. We are meant to move about every 15 minutes.
If standing at your desk makes your back hurt, the answer may not be “fix your posture.”
It may be to change your posture more often. Or even just move your feet, your arms, your legs - it doesn’t have to be huge!
Try this today:
→ Shift your weight side to side
→ Take one foot forward
→ Lean on the desk for a moment
→ Sit for a few minutes
→ Stand back up
→ Stretch your arms
→ Take a short walk
Think movement variety, not perfect posture.
Your goal isn’t to find the one position your body tolerates forever.
It’s to give your body more options.
Move better. Live better.
