Tayla Davis is the instructor and trainer of Little Miss Sunshine Equestrian. She is a lifelong horsewoman and has participated in many disciplines growing up with her quarter horses. Tayla has experience in hunter/jumpers, western pleasure, gymkhana events and has competed in both the intercollegiate and interscholastic polo circuits. She attended Johnson & Wales University where she graduated Su
mma Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Equine Business Management/Riding and concentrations in Instructor/Trainer and Entrepreneurship. While attending JWU, she became passionate about dressage, which has been her main focus since then. She has had the opportunity to work with many top dressage trainers in the New England area. In addition, Tayla has extensive experience in horse care and first aid. She has owned and cared for her own horses for more than 15 years. Over the past few years Tayla has also assisted an Equine Surgical Specialist and has expanded her veterinary knowledge by assisting in a variety of equine surgeries. Tayla is thrilled to share her experience and knowledge with her lesson and training clients. She is especially excited about starting a Western Dressage program because she loves being able to combine her love for dressage with her roots of western riding. Her goal is to create understanding in the rider and to encourage harmony between the partnership of horse and rider through a strong dressage foundation. She believes in teaching her students the importance of horsemanship on the ground as well as in the saddle to create confident riders in a safe environment. She has also been developing a nutrition program for equestrians to improve their performance as riders and is excited to incorporate that into her programs. Little Miss Sunshine Equestrian is located at Beech Tree Farm in Little Compton, RI and offers very safe, reliable, school horses for riders of all levels. Tayla is also available to travel to clients for lessons and training rides, though a travel fee may apply. Private and group lessons available, as well as "pony" rides for the little ones who aren't quite ready for a full lesson. Discounted lesson packages also available.
