IBA has decided to obsolete Open ratings. Starting 2026 Summer, members will no longer have 2 ratings, i.e. Open and Advanced/Masters. Open ratings will be adjusted to Advanced/Masters ratings which is lower than their current Open rating.

Changes to the Open format will be the following:

1. Minimum ratings will now be 25 instead of 30
2. Non-rated player races will still be 45
3. Team handicap will go from 325 to 250
4. Time-outs are staying the same

If you play both Open and Advanced or Masters you will see that you are now playing to your Advanced/Masters rating in both formats. This will simplify the ratings across all divisions and formats making it easier to have a conversation about player ability across formats.

The 2025 Midwest Regional Championship is in the books. Congratulations to all the players and teams who had a great tournament. Over $110K paid out in prizes this year. Thanks to all the players who participated this year and play IBA.

The brackets for the singles tournament are up. Player ratings are current as of Thursday and we will be processing matches over the next few days which might changes some players ratings. So players shouldn't panic if they see their rating has changed.

Over the next few days we are going to be transitioning our website to a new hosting provider. So the website might not be available during this period of time. If you need more information about the brackets you can call the office at 651-636-2022.

The masters team brackets and open team brackets will be posted sometime tomorrow.

Bronze = Lowest 32 ratings

Advanced tournament update! Because we have 194 teams playing this year, we can't get down to the final 4 like we have in the past on the first weekend. So we are having to bring back the final 12 teams on Saturday March 14th to play down to the final 4 for Sunday. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we just don't have enough tables and time to get the event down to the final 4 the first weekend.
