Each month we have been training you up for the main event in June.. 100 miles to help those who are battling an issue illness that effects all of us..

This ride will be very special in so many ways.. When you cross the finish line you will get a very special pair of The Socks... These socks can’t be purchased.. You have to earn them by finishing our 100 mile route.

The cost of this event is $150 with 100% of the proceeds going to The Socks Charity.. Each rider will get a special edition T-shirt and water bottle.. There will be 3 SAG stops and a post event party fully catered by a local top chef..

This event will be one to remember but also a ride that will impact someone’s life directly.

Great weekend coming up, support a great local cycling club!

The St. Pete Bike Club's Classic event weekend, presented by PSCU, is less than a month away!

BOB ROLL! Yes, you read that right - for our registered riders and volunteers only, join us with our featured guest, the one and only "Bobke", on Saturday evening from 6-8 at The Bikery! Bob will be there to talk about his experiences in the peloton and his time covering the Tour for television. There will be a Q&A and photo op as well. Bob will probably ride the 60 mile event on Sunday. Again, for registered riders and volunteers, beer from the award-winning Pinellas Ale Works, our event beer sponsor, will be provided as well!

BOBBY JULICH! No, your eyes haven't deceived you! We have a second special guest scheduled to join us for the weekend. Bobby rode against Greg LeMond, and was a teammate with Armstrong, Pantani, Hincapie and Voigt. He placed third in the Tour de France, was a silver medalist in the Olympic TT, and won many races like Paris-Nice. Bobby is coming to us through his friendship with Sully Sullivan of OxiClean, one of our great sponsors.

Friday, February 8th from 3-6 pm, we'll have early packet pickup at St. Pete Bike and Fitness, another one of our wonderful sponsors.

Saturday February 9th from 3-6 pm, we'll have early packet pickup at The Bikery, yet another awesome sponsor and the host for the Bob Roll event.

Sunday, February 10th is the big day - a variety of rides in including a full century, great post-ride food, and craft beer. The Manatee County Fairgrounds offers plenty of parking, a covered venue, and easy access. The rides are scenic and mostly flat, and the weather in February is usually perfect.

So come join us for a fabulous weekend of cycling, cycling legends, camaraderie and good fun! Remember, sign up before January 23rd to be guaranteed an event t-shirt.

Besides watching a 20-minute power number go up, or heart rates reduce or 5k run time improve how do we know when training is working? What happens if none of the above improve? Does this mean our training sucks? Or are these just endurance stereotypes that narrow our focus?
