This week we’ve been exploring the principle of Ahimsa, or non-harming, in ALL of our classes. Ahimsa is not just the absence of violence, but it’s also the presence of loving kindness. It applies to our actions, our words, and even our thoughts, and not just toward others but also (and maybe even more importantly) toward ourselves. Our internal ecosystem has EVERYTHING to do with the way we interact with the rest of the world.
Practicing yoga does NOT automatically make you a calm, kind human but it sure gives us lots of opportunities to notice when we aren’t being one. The more we notice, the easier it becomes.
I challenge you to practice of ahimsa off the mat this week and when you fall short, practice giving yourself some grace. We are all perfectly imperfect and that is enough.
