🎣 2026 KIDS FISHING DERBY 🎣

CAUGHT: fish, a snake and a cell phone!
It was a perfect day for some fishing! Thank you to Litchfield Conservation Commission and Recreation Commission volunteers, Officers Frulla and Richardson for stopping by (and catching a snake!) and to the parents and grandparents who brought the kids for a fun morning of fishing! A special “Thank you!” to George Lavash for heading this great event!

🛝 🎣 🥎𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗵!🛝🎣🥎

The Litchfield Recreation Commission racked up 27 hours of volunteer work sprucing up Roy Memorial Park. Mulch was spread at the playground. A HUGE “Thank you!” to TIM’S TURF for donating and delivering all the mulch! Overhanging limbs and overgrowth around the park were cut and removed. Old soccer nets left by the shed were dismantled and removed as well as all the other “junk” that has been left there. The beach was cleaned and raked. Thanks to George, Matt and Jayson from Litchfield Conservation Commission for coming over after their highway clean up and helping to install the fishing dock! Three trips were made to the Litchfield Transfer Station! Please help us keep our parks clean! Thank you to all the residents who regularly pick up trash when they are walking through the park. We really appreciate it!
