The Broncos had an early morning matchup with Edgeley-Kulm to start off tournament play. The game started off pretty sluggish but the Broncos found a second gear on the second half. Trailing by 8 with 2:30 left on the clock the Broncos went on a 12-2 run to end the game a secure a hard fought victory over E-K 39-37.

In the Elite 8 matchup, the Broncos faced Heritage Christian out of Fort Collins, CO. This was probably our toughest matchup of the camp. These two team were evenly matched and both played outstanding defense. The Broncos were down early by a dozen in the first half. They came out hot defensively in the second half chipping away at the lead and got as close at 2 points. Heritage proved to be to much and pulled away winning by 9.

The Weekend had the Broncos finishing 4-2 and holding four opponents under 40 points. It was a great showing with only a few hours practiced early in the week and a long drive and time change along the way. Thanks Coach Christianson for spending the weekend with us driving, coaching, and chaperoning. A special shout out to Coach Reinke’s crew for making a mini vacation of it and Chelsea for going live in the last 3 games.

The Broncos finished pool play with a late night match up with Valley, CO. Broncos had some built up aggression following that tough buzzer be**er defeat in their previous match up. The defense set the tone once again to pace the Broncos. It was an awesome effort with the Broncos doubling up the Vikes 46-23.

Tomorrow the Broncos start the Champions tourney at 8 am vs North Dakota’s own Edgeley-Kulm Rebels.

Broncos faced another solid opponent today at the BUSU camp playing Custer, SD. It was a defensive battle with both team struggling to get good looks at the basket. It was back and forth with the Broncos tying the game at 35-35 with 7 seconds left on the clock. Custer scored a buzzer be**er 3 as time expired to give Custer the 38-35 victory. Broncos will be back in action at 7:20 for our last game of pool play. With a win will secure a spot in the Champions Tourney Sunday starting at 8am.

The Broncos played their 2nd and final game of the day against a good Upton, Wyoming team. The Bronco defense found another gear and raced out by 16 at halftime. Their defense was stifling and the offense was being executed almost flawlessly. It was fun to see this group with some early chemistry. So now after going 2-0 on the day with two more games tomorrow vs Custer, SD and Gilcrest, CO the boys are enjoying the water park.

Broncos played a tough Crow Creek, SD team. It was a back and forth contest that saw the Broncos up by as many as 8. Crow Creek had momentum late in the second half leading by 7 with 3 minutes to go. The Broncos fought back to get the 4 point win. Next up for the Broncos is Upton, Wyoming.
