Our sport lost a good one today. Billy Singleton has been a pioneer for archery in SW Indiana for over half a century. Whether it was indoor archery, field archery, 3D archery, or catching up with a big ol whitetail, elk, or caribou, Billy was without a doubt one of the best around. Not only was Billy a very big part of bringing 3D Archery to this area, he was also instrumental in getting Sherwood Bowmen Archery Club off the ground (known as Bussero Archers back then). Sherwood named a trophy shoot in his honor over 25 years ago and it brought hundreds of shooters annually to Greene and Sullivan counties to compete for a trophy with his name on it. We pray that Billy is reunited with his long time hunting and shooting partner Evelyn, who he lost earlier this year. Guys like Billy are one of a kind and every Archer in SW Indiana can thank Billy and his efforts for what we enjoy today.

Well unfortunately the issues with the city property we use, were not resolved during the off season. Mayor Wilkes has been great to work with and we are grateful for the city allowing us to use the Conservation Club for the past two seasons, but this is out of his hands as well as ours. We're currently looking for additional property to use and we'll be in touch as things move forward. But for now, we do not have a timeline as to when 3D Archery will be coming back to the area. We're down, but not out!

Unfortunately we have some sad news to deliver. Due to circumstances out of our control with the city property we use, our final two shoots of the year will be cancelled. According to Mayor Wilkes, he is optimistic that we will be able to use the property again in the Spring when our 2021 3D Season kicks off. Thanks to everyone who has been coming out to the shoots and helping keep our club alive. Lord willing, we will see you all in March!

We still have a few memberships left!

We have ASA memberships available for sale for the 2020 shooting year! Memberships are $40 (the same as if purchased from ASA directly) Purchasing your memberships through Sherwood Bowmen helps our nonprofit Archery club recoup some of our insurance fees back.

If you are planning on shooting an ASA Pro/Am or the Indiana ASA State shoot you will need a membership.
ASA memberships expire Jan. 1 of each year!
