Trust me… I love the fire service.
But like most things in life, I’ve had the opportunity to learn my lessons the hard way.
I said YES to everything.
Extra training… YES
OT… YES
Extra projects… YES
Can I do “that”… YES
I let the fire service become my identity. My passion. My life.
I didn’t know how to separate or truly clock out when I left. Now don’t get me wrong, I believe in being ALL IN! When I’m at the station, I believe in being invested, involved, and the hardest worker I can be.
But after hurting my family, my friends, my relationship with Christ, I’ve had to learn how to separate.
When I get home, they expect a husband, a father, The ‘Stache Salt Guy… not LT!
It can be especially difficult, especially while running another business that is directly tied to the fire service.
It takes discipline, and it’s not always convenient… but your family is worth it.
When you get your gear off the rig for the last time, someone else will fill your seat…
No one can fill your seat like YOU at home!
Learn to be ALL IN while you’re at the station, and to be ALL IN at home!
Being a good fireman, starts with being a good man first!
Keep the FIRST THINGS FIRST!
Faith. Family. Freedom.
Stay salty my friends! 🇺🇸💀™️
