The District was formed in March, 1988, making us one of the youngest Park District in this area. However, it's one of the fastest growing Park Districts with a variety of recreational programs and parks to offer. We currently have 19 names park sites which includes 2 beaches (25 parcels of open space total), that offer some of the newest active features around, combined with designated passive/na

tural areas. We also have a Community Center with a full size gymnasium, 3 lane suspended walking/jogging track, dance studio, senior/adult room, preschool and multi-purpose rooms, conference room, and they are all ADA accessible.

OUR FIRST DAY AT ENGLE JUNCTION LITTLE LEARNERS!🧸❤️

Today was a BIG day at Engle Junction! Our little learners three’s kicked off their first day, and we couldn’t be more excited for all the fun and learning ahead.

The morning started with pictures outside with Paws, then we headed inside to find their cubbies and get settled. There were goodbyes (maybe a few tears), new friends to meet, new things to discover, and plenty of smiles along the way. It’s gonna be a great year!

A Trip Through Waukegan's History! 📜🏛

🚌What a trip we had on Wednesday, September 2! Our historical Landmarks of Waukegan adventure took us on a journey through time as we explored some of Waukegan's most historic and treasured destinations.

🏛📚Our first stop was the beautifully restored Waukegan Carnegie Library, home to the Waukegan Historical Society archives. This historic landmark gave us a glimpse into Waukegan's past.

🍕😍Then it was time for lunch at Quonset Pizza! A favorite Waukegan tradition for over 70 years. It's like stepping right into the 1950s with checkered floors, bar stools, vintage decor, and old-fashioned tunes. And, of course, we enjoyed some of the famous thin-crust pizza!

🎭Our final stop was the historic Genesee Theatre, where we went behind the scenes at Lake County's premier performing arts venue. We explored nearly 100 years of history as we walked through the theatre.

What a fun day filled with history, great food, and new memories.

🍕 EVERYBODY LOVES PIZZA! 🍕 And our trip to Grassway Organics was proof that pizza just tastes better when you enjoy it on the farm!

We had so much fun spending the afternoon at the farm. We enjoyed fresh air, farm history, a behind-the-scenes look at farm life, and, of course, ended our trip with a delicious wood-fired pizza.

Our tour, led by the owner, gave us an inside look at the farm's operations. We explored the grounds, visited the pastures, watched the cows grazing freely, toured the milking bays, and checked out the chicken area.

And Grassway Organics is truly something special! Their cows are 100% grass-fed, their milk is unpasteurized, and their farm store is packed with natural foods and unique gifts.

Each season, supper club lovers aged 21+ come together for a little adventure filled with good food, great drinks, and timeless hospitality, all in the spirit of celebrating the classic supper club experience.

This summer, we took our adventure to The Duck Inn Supper Club in Delavan, Wisconsin! From the food and drinks to the atmosphere and good company, it was another memorable stop on our supper club journey.

🎶🎸 TURN UP THE PARK - THE 2026 LMP SUMMER RECAP!🎷

Well...THAT was a summer! 😂

Hot. Humid. Rainy. Rescheduled. Rescheduled AGAIN.
And somehow...we still managed to TURN UP THE PARK! 🔥🔥

If our 2026 Live Music in the Parks season had a theme song, it might have sounded a little something like this...

From Beyond The Blonde kicking things off to Soda bringing the party, ARRA, Valius Band, Roger That at Bark in the Park with their surprise guest, Logan Ramey, 90's Pop Nation, Wh***ey Friends MWE, School of Rock, The Jolly Ringwalds Chicago 80s band, and finishing strong with The Blooze Brothers you showed up, danced, sang along, braved the weather, survived the reschedules, and made every night one to remember!

We had FREE live music, classic cars, food trucks, cold drinks, dancing, dogs, giveaways, kids running around, friends hanging out, and SO much community fun. 🐾🎵🚓
